No use arguing, dem’s da rulz.

Does it make sense? Nope.

Walt Bell is a nice looking possibility at the passing OC position instead of Locksley. Honestly the more I read about Bell, the more I hope we end up with him in lieu of Locksley.

Has it been mentioned that one of the namesakes of our thread was hired at Arizona. That is a good fit hire. Sumlin knows the area to recruit and runs an uptempo offense that fits current players.

I agree with what you said but am still a bit surprised by the hire. Generally when a coach is fired from a P5 school, they don't get an immediate opportunity at another one.

Agreed, but i think some people see this as a “special” situation. It is not every year a coach gets fired so a coach with a worse record that year can be rewarded with the largest contract ever in college football

Thats true if the P5 coach was losing constantly. Not the case in aTm, he just wasn't winning ENOUGH for a group apparently not functioning in reality.

So everybody on Twitter is now saying it’s a done deal with Walt Bell to be passing OC, Honestly, at this point I don’t care we just need a body. BUT....after reading up on him he’s probably a better fit, a slightly smarter X&Os guy and definitely a better person than Locksley just not quite as good at Crootin and doesn’t have the Bama panache.

He also resembles Jared Kushner.

I like this hire. Everything i have read about the guy seems positive and i like people that make smart moves for themselves. Up and coming coach who will be a HC in the near future that gives himself exposure to the an excellent recruting staff while making connections in the south for his on recruiting one day, smart.

Here's an article explaining Bells offense when he was hired at Maryland.

Good enough for Taggart, good enough for me:
At just 31-years old, Bell is one of the most dynamic young offensive minds in college football. His offenses move very quickly, and feature some of the most innovative play-calling in the country. Bell’s offense can be clearly classified as an up-tempo spread scheme which puts a strong emphasis on the running game. In addition to being an excellent offensive play-caller and coach, Bell is also an accomplished recruiter.

Well, he knows how to beat aTm which is now in most everyone's top 5 to hate. And he did that with lesser athletes, so thats encouraging! Guess I should have been watching the Xs and Os a bit more vs just cheering for aTm's Defense to get knocked backwards every play.

Speaking of future seasons, 2019 is showing a game against Boise St that is TBD, but the 2020 Boise St is listed as "Away". Anyone know why 2019 isn't set as home? Just assuming we'd do a home/away series with them.

My guess is either Jacksonville or Orlando is trying to get FSU to replace a home game for one there. There is precedence for that.

Im good with that as long as the game in Boise still occurs. Was crestfallen with the AF game was canceled.
