#100pagesnatty Thread 11/08/18 #63pagesnattynumber1 #106pagesnattynumber2

That’s a really nice home schedule for the ticket holders unlike the last couple of years, so hopefully our attendance spikes up quite a bit.

I do think that road schedule may be a little too daunting to get back in the title hunt for a team learning a new system. But I think a ten win season is definitely possible.

My guess is either Jacksonville or Orlando is trying to get FSU to replace a home game for one there. There is precedence for that.
I thought it was a done deal that Boise was going to be in Jax. Glad I didn't reserve a parking spot yet.

So hopefully someone on Taggart’s staff took a look at this kid’s tape. He’s a 6’3” hurdles champ and plays football in Georgia at the 6A level but somehow only has one P5 offer (Tennessee). And supposedly grades and criminal history are good.

a 99 yard td reception AND a 99 yard return? makes me think of what it would be like if Lamar Jackson played receiver.

QB makes some pretty nice throws.

Yep, I thought the same thing. He has zero interest from big schools at the moment probably because he’s only about the size of Deondre Francois (aka 6 ft in cleats, on his tippytoes and counting his hair). But if we strike out on our main targets I’d be fine picking him up last second.

Apparently we put the full press on in order to get Dennis Briggs a four star DE who needs to gain some mass before he can play at the college level. We sent the entire defensive staff to his house. Allegedly it’s down to us, Meeahme, Souff Cakalacky, CanTuckEe and Louahval.

Hmm, we’re hosting a 3 Star GB (Michael Barrett) who is only 5’11.5” this weekend. From what I see on the highlights, I actually like the similarly short guy featured in the Young highlights (Caleb Pruitt) better.

I do think we need depth as I assume at least one of Cosentino, Francois and/or Blackman will transfer out after spring camp and possibly two (obviously not Frenchie AND Blackman but one of those plus Cosentino). So if I was in charge (and I’m not for good reason, I don’t know what the %*%* I’m talking about as I haven’t played “the foozeball” since HS and never coached, just did some articles back in the day), I’d be tempted to give Young a commitable scholarship offer and give Pruitt a preferred walk on status with the understanding he would get a scholarship if/probably when a QB walks out on us.

Also, as an aside, it seems like we offered every single player on Trinity Catholic High’s team today regardless of class.

And here’s a great onliner from one of our new Noles

Black don't crack.
Unless you live in College Station.

Every offensive coach other than Frey and Taggart are in Tre’Shaun Harris’ house for the day.

Hopefully we end up with at least Tre’Shaun, Jalen Hall and Warren Thompson at “WR”.

Also just to show the differences in staff, somehow Jimbo never offered the #1 TE for 2019. Fortunately that was rectified today.

1) The inherit laziness of the old staff in recruiting over the last two years

And

2) How this staff is recruiting on a national level. It looks like we have coaches recruiting in Washington (3 of them), Texas, Arkansas, Ohio, Georgia, North Carolina and Florida today.

I will say it again. Hindsight is 20-20 and the farther we go to the new, the better this decision looks in the rear view mirror, like dumping an ex. aTm really seemed to have done FSU a favor. We need thank you posters at the first game day next year.

I agree. And it’s not just sour grapes, at first I was deadset on keeping Jimbo. But the more I heard about how our recruiting was nonexistent for almost two years (it wasn’t felt last year much because you’re usually recruiting these kids years out, I mean I’m pretty sure we offers out to 2021 now), the more I’m thinking this was way overdue.

Taggart versus an energetic, enthused Jimbo may at best be a wash. But Taggart versus a sullen, angry and purposefully slacking Jimbo is a “no brainer”.

Jimbo also hasn't offered him at aTm either which leads me to believe it's more of a scheme fit issue than anything else. Given the 6-7 decommits after the coaching change, I certainly don't think there was a lack of effort on the recruiting trail prior to the end of last year. That was not what was portrayed by those in the know on the recruiting boards.

We did have some recruits lined up for 2018 before he left (but I want to say from memory we hadn’t cracked the top 25 recruiting class at the time he left), it was the 2019 and 2020 classes where little or nothing had been done. But it’s not like we were raking in recruits before he left, I remember reading where Jimbo responded defensively without providing details to public accusations he wasn’t recruiting.

Uhhh
Not sure what that’s about. Kid may he high risk high reward. Watched him play Leon a few months ago. He was a man among boys. Motor never, ever stopped. It wasn’t fair. But he also hit late numerous times and was constantly acting terribly, on field and by the sidelines. It was so bad I was surprised and disappointed he wasn’t tossed (they did call him to sidelines numerous times for coach discussions). I know there was some personal stuff to it because the Chiles coach went over to Leon this year, but that’s not an excuse for the behavior. If he does that in ACC games he will rack up a lot of PFs.

In other news...FSU is ranked 3rd in baseball per Baseball America.

I'll post here to help the thread....Does anyone think the Iggles have a legit chance, and if so, how & why??

Let’s see....the Eagles have won zero Super Bowls. The Patriots have won five including two of the last three. The Eagles are starting their backup at QB. The Patriots are starting the best QB of this generation.

So.....no.

Yes
Why
They have 4 Noles on their team.

How
Maintain pressure up the middle that will allow ends to pressure and hit Brady. Fletcher Cox is the key to this success. Rushing four will also allow doubles on Gronk.
Then on offense let Foles throw it deep as he did against Minny which will keep safeties back allowing the running game to eat some clock limiting Bradys touches
