18 trades on the deadline day yesterday and I don't think any involved the Braves. Shocking!
It tells me that we have crap to offer at this point but Freddie and Julio. A lot of those guys will get traded in the fall for more prospects. Not that we will get a lot for them but you will see them dump the remaining payroll as soon as they can. I think they hope all this young talent can develop quick and then they will have the money to sign them all to long term deals when they are proven.Coppy said that they didn't get offered the value they wanted for any of the players.Good for him for only wanting to rip off other teams.Several players could be moved in waiver deals or in the winter.

Big mistake IMHO.Not sure his talent outweighs his immaturity.
Braves could reportedly pursue Yasiel Puig
Yasiel Puig has likely played his last game for the Los Angeles Dodgers, and one team that might be able to afford taking on the restoration project is the Atlanta Braves.
According to a report by Jim Bowden of ESPN on Thursday, the Braves could explore a pursuit of the mercurial outfielder. Since they currently have the worst record in the league, Atlanta would have first priority in a potential waiver claim of Puig should the Dodgers place him there. Bowden also notes that if that effort fails, the Braves may consider trading a mid-level pitching prospect for the Cuban defector.
Puig, 25, was recently demoted to the minor leagues by the Dodgers after their acquisition of outfielder Josh Reddick at the trade deadline. They have long been open to dealing away Puig, and the Braves have a void at the right field position (aging veterans Nick Markakis and Jeff Francoeur notwithstanding) and not a lot to lose.
There is obviously significant risk that comes with adding Puig, especially considering how his performance on the field (he’s batting just .258 in his last two seasons combined) no longer allows for his foolhardy behavior off it to be tolerated. But Puig is the very definition of a buy-low guy right now, so the Braves might find a dice roll on him to be a decent enough investment.

Braves pitchers allow only two hits but they still manage to lose 1-0. smh.
Atlanta earned their 4th straight win with a 2-1 victory over the Brewers. Impressive performances from starter Tyrell Jenkins and Mauricio Cabrera getting his 3rd save with a strikeout on a 102mph fastball! Where did we get this kid?

I am becoming a big fan and it is crazy to see that 102 on the jug. I would love to try to take a swing at one of those pitches but would miss by a mile.
Braves still last in MLB but second in the NL in the last 10 games W/L at 7-3. I expect much better play from here on out. Of course I have been fooled before so there is that.
Just don't want to lose 100.Luckily, the Twins are also 7-3 in the last 10, and the #1 pick is still secure, don't want to win too many games and mess up the draft position.
Need 19 more wins to avoid 100 losses. Can they do it?
'81-'85? You should've been a fan in the '60's and '70's!as one who lived through the 1981 to 1985 doldrums when we were the laughingstock of MLB I' like our direction but Liberty Media must die in a fire
Agree. 1-9 in the last 10 games. They go from playing pretty well to terrible. Jenkins goes from being lights out to giving up 9 runs.I now seriously doubt we can keep from breaking the century mark in losses. The next hope is that we don't break any records.
Braves should give a refund to every season ticket holder this season for the lousy product they put on the field.42-70 as of last night. Can they finish at least 21-29 to avoid 100 losses?
It's only surprising because he's a good clubhouse guy and mentor for all the young players.Jeff Francoeur traded. He had some good moments this year but don't think this surprises anyone.
