BRAVES 2017

Last year on September 22nd the Braves had a record of 62-91 and ended the year at 68-93. Today they are 68-83. Improvement but not what I hoped for or expected.

Finished the season at 72 :D 90 :(. Just a four win improvement over last year. I had hoped for better. Some of these young pitchers need to come through next year.

Braves GM John Coppolella resigns amid MLB probe into international signing rules violations

The Braves announced Coppolella's resignation Monday, citing a "breach of Major League Baseball rules regarding the international player market." Gordon Blakeley, a special assistant to the GM who was the team's international scouting chief, also has resigned.

Coppolella's surprising resignation came just two years and one day after he was promoted to GM and signed a four-year contract. John Hart, the Braves' president of baseball operations, will perform GM duties until the team hires a replacement for Coppolella.

Sources confirmed to ESPN's Jerry Crasnick that multiple team executives have filed complaints with the commissioner's office recently over Coppolella's conduct, and that MLB is investigating Coppolella for a number of infractions in areas beyond the international realm.

One source told Crasnick that the breach of etiquette regarding the international player market could be just "the tip of the iceberg." Yahoo! Sports, which first reported the scope of the investigation Monday, also reported that the probe includes Atlanta's domestic draft practices.

Disappointed for sure.
Ready for major changes in 2018. Doubt it will happen. Been bad for a while now.

Heard this on the radio this morning. It will be interesting to see what exactly a professional baseball team did that was illegal in this case. Do you have a guess on what they may have done?

Now that Joe Girardi has been let go would the Braves consider picking him up? Snitker is on contract for 2018 but don't think it extends beyond that, could be wrong though.

Anyone notice how many former Braves played in the World Series?

Some coaching changes announced today. Terry Pendleton and Eddie Perez are out. Walt Weiss, Eric Young Sr and Sal Fasano are in. I think that makes three managers on the staff now.

Had the week off and haven't been online much, but the punishment from MLB was massive and in my opinion too extensive. That many players forfeited is ridiculous.
