Did you get vaccinated yet?

I got my shot 2 weeks ago and waiting to get my second shot. 30 minutes after taking my shot I took 2 Tylenol. I took 2 more before I went to bed. The next morning I took 2 more tylenol.

NOTHING, NADA. No head ache, no fever no nausea. I'm looking forward to taking the second one. Folks let me say this, these vaccines aren't a cure, it just blocks covid from getting your body to create all the mucus that will fill your lung, suffocating you.

IMO YOU ARE AN IDIOT not to take the vaccine. Unless you have a history or family history of being allergenic, TAKE THE VACCINE.

Stop being a knuckle head especially if you have children under 18.

Why did you take Tylenol with no symptoms? I just had a little soreness and I'm not going to screw with my liver with Tylenol if I don't need it.
I pretty much don't agree with just about everything you said...sorry.

I agree that there is no reason not to get vaccinated unless your primary care doctor tells you differently.

Heard on local news that 3,000,000 Floridians are so far “immunized,” fully or partially. Honestly seems like this thing will soon be whipped. Will be pleased to lose these silly “masks,” and then (hopefully) never again hear the phrase “social distancing.” What a complete pain in the ass this thing has been, with some very real (and tragic) implications for some. Big mess.

I agree with everything you stated....the losses we’ve endured personally, the masks are an annoyance, social distancing sucks, travel restrictions are awful, but we collectively have to go the distance. I can’t wait for my vax number (age) to be called, and I can’t wait for life resembling what it was a short 365 days ago. Hang in there....we can do this....we have to.

I'm not getting the vaccine this year, guess I'm an idiot. Then again you know what they say about opinions...

You‘re certainly not an idiot.....your body, your choice. I choose to move forward with my first opportunity, as I did with my shingles vaccine, and as I do with the annual flu shot, but again, my choice...people need to respect the choices of others, particularly in something so personal...it’s weird to me that simply isn’t the case. Be well...

Agree with you guys, but this is the type of nonsense those of us who chose to not get the vaccine now have to listen to. I don't criticize people who choose to get it who are young and healthy because that's up to them. Just look at social media and how many people talk about getting the vaccine like a badge of honor. Do what you are going to do and stop trying to shame those who go a different route(not that I give a F what people think).

Wholeheartedly agree...we all make our own decisions and we deal with the consequences, either good or bad. Honestly, it’s all pretty simple...live and let live.

You do you. But when your decision affects others, there will likely be differing opinions. Personally unless someone’s physician tells them not to get it, I don’t understand the reluctance.

If I get covid and come in contact with you who has been vaccinated, how am I affecting you?
My reluctance comes from the fact that it's so new. That's not to say I won't get it in the future, but definitely not this year.
I live less than an hour from NYC, my wife works daily in multiple distribution centers and my kids have been in day care since June. We take every precaution possible, but none of us will be getting the vaccine this year.
Anecdotally, I know quite a few people in my age group who have had the virus and even more who have had the vaccine. The outcomes on both have been similar: some have virtually no issues, others feel like they are dying.

Not going to try to convince you either way, but those that have had bad reactions to the vaccine have recovered in 24-36 hrs. and feel normal.

Maybe you aren’t infecting me. Maybe you are infecting someone who can’t take the vaccine for age, health or other reasons. And mRNA was discovered in 1961. It’s not new. Tens of millions have been vaccinated. The virus is a killer in my experience. The several people that I know who have been vaccinated have had short term fever or arm pain. That’s a pin prick compared to what I am seeing from severe cases if the virus. Obviously you are free to do as you wish and I hope it all works out.

Yes, that's been what I've observed too. The people I know who have had the actual virus with accompanying illness have had it for 2-5 days.

Even if I'm vaccinated, can't I be a carrier and spread it?

I was a the Service for 39 years and retired in 2018.. I started getting the flu vaccine about 8 years ago when I was 50 yo and the department was providing it. I want to see the results of this Covid vaccine for a few year before taking it. I am curious to know how many people who received the flu vaccine last year developed Covid. It would be an interesting study.
For me, I just don't understand the need to innoculate myself against something that is so survivable, especially with a vaccine that was approved so quickly and without the normal long term trials. And if we are all going to be required to continue to social distance and wear masks anyway what's the point? All of life is a risk. The mortality rate on Earth is 100% the last time I checked. Might as well just exercise, keep a healthy weight (one of the major ways to keep from dying of flu or COVID) eat right and keep on living!!

Took my GF to Tradewinds Park in Pompano Beach today for her first Pfizer shot. Two hours in line to a drive through tent. It took 15 minutes at the tent because they didn't do the paperwork and ask all of the questions until you got to the tent! Why wouldn't they have people doing that while you are in line for TWO HOURS? She qualified because she works in a Dentist office with patient contact. I honestly don't see that being different to a retail store worker that has contact with customers. Nobody asked for proof of being a medical worker.

I am watching the Bay Hill tournament right now. Thousands of people shoulder to shoulder on the 18th hole watching the end. Some with masks, some not. Nary a word about Covid issues or risks. “Arnie’s Tournament” seems to be “OK.”

But let 500 college kids get together at Spring Break, and the media tells us how crazy and irresponsible those students are. LOL. Hard for me to find a lot of consistency around this thing. Seems to be “who’s doing it?” and “how much $$ hangs in the balance?” are the key questions. No??

I went to the TCU stadium. They used the various booster parking lots as stations.
First stop was check IDs. 45 seconds. Next stop given clipboard with paperwork to fill out at next stop, 1 min. Next stop, fill out paperwork, chat with the nice nurses. This stop was 5 or 6 lines with maybe 4 or 5 cars in them. Had way more capacity if needed. Probably waited there 10-ish minutes. Then it was our line's turn to get in the shot line. Another 5-10 minutes and into the 10 station shot station. Then on to the 10 minute wait before you leave to see if you have a reaction line.

All in all, it took about 30 minutes from showing ID to leaving for home. Very efficient and kudos to all the voluteers that are there directing traffic and answering questions.
This was at 3:45 on a Saturday afternoon and it was a Baylor Scott and White Healthcare site, not the county.

The county shot place at Texas Motor Speedway has 16 lines. Heard they get you in and out pretty fast.

Great points!! Yes, who most stands to financially benefit from all of this is a great question.

I think it’s before that. J&J says they’ll have 100M doses in the US by end of Q2 (June) and both Moderna and Pfizer have said they’ll have 100M doses each by end of Q1 (March). So the supply is going to ramp up. Remember, there are something 260M adults in this country and prob a full 1/4 won’t get the vaccine for whatever reason. So really we’re only looking at needing to get 200M people done. I just hope the people who choose not to don’t keep this thing around allowing it to continue to mutate, but im afraid that’s what we as a society deserve.
"We as a society deserve?" Sad that some people think in terms of "national group guilt" rather than individual guilt. Our "society" is made up of over 300 million people. I can't think of a good argument for all of them deserving anything other than their constitutional rights to be protected and to receive equal treatment under the law - as individuals.

My wife and I will be getting our second Moderna shot in a week or two.... we were wondering if you had any 'effects' as some have mentioned flu-like symptoms for a couple of days.... TIA! :~)
My wife and I had our second Moderna shot two weeks ago. Had heard it was a good idea to drink plenty of water before and after any shot, and did so. I had no reactions at all. Wife had a little soreness in her arm for a day and was tired the day she got the shot. Overall, it was a breeze.

I didn’t say anything about guilt. There’s just so much misinformation flowing freely on social media platforms that you have these people not wanting the vaccine for no real reason other than some dumb conspiracy. People can choose to do what they want, but yeah, society right now is pretty much in the trash.

Doctors and Insurance Companies really highly recommend seniors take flu shots and two different pneumonia shots. I got 1st Pfizer shot today, after my Doctor recommended it and I did a lot of research.
2nd Pfizer this past Friday. So far, so good. Also physician told me to continue taking zinc and vit D3 and C.
