FSU sports information:

Florida State senior Onyi Echegini was named the ACC Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after her performance that helped lead the top-ranked Seminoles to a 4-1 win over No. 11 Notre Dame last Thursday. This is Echegini's first ACC Player of the Week award this season but the third of her career (she won twice in the 2022 season).

In a matchup with both teams looking to take sole possession of first place in the ACC, Echegini rose to the occasion with two goals for the top-ranked Seminoles. Echegini got the scoring just eight minutes into the game as she received a pass from Jordynn Dudley, and Echeginimaneuvered traffic to find the back of the net to give FSU a 1-0 lead. After the Fighting Irish scored a goal of their own, Echegini took matters into her own hands right before halftime as she took a shot from just outside of the box that deflected off the goalie and found the back of the net. This was Echegini's second brace of the season.

Echegini is once again one of the top scorers in the ACC. Echegini is currently tied for second in the league with eight goals while playing the fewest games of any of the top 10 scorers in the league.

The top-ranked Seminoles will be back in action on Thursday when they take on No. 17 Pitt at 7 p.m. (ACC Network Extra) at the Seminole Soccer Complex.
