Sam's sister would only be the head of house Tarly IF all of the male heirs are dead. What you're describing is more of an Salic type of succession i.e. Who is closest to the original male ruler. But in regular Westeros it wouldn't go to the sister if there's living uncles or even cousins. In Dorne she WOULD be the Lady of the house regardless of Sam's kids acknowledgement or not as Sam withdrew his own claim by taking the black and there's no other brothers. But in other parts of Westeros women only hold the title if all possible male heirs are extinguished.

So basically, if Sam acknowledges the kid, it's the kid. If he doesn't for some reason, it would go to any living male heir (uncles first then first cousins) no only then to Sam's sister.

Sam's father is an only child. Sam and Dickon are/were the only males. The sister is the only one left. At least, these are the only ones mentioned so far in the story.

I don't think the baby is Sams. Gilly had that baby with Craster, who was her father. So Sams not related to the baby, but the baby is Gillys son and brother.

I don't think anyone is arguing otherwise; but Sam identified the baby as his, and everyone thinks the baby is his. The only question is legitimizing the child because he isn't married to Gilly.

I find it amusing that we're hear discussing the lineage of a minor house b/c I jokingly said Sam is Lord Tarly!

So when are we going to get Jon's true name? Will we ever? It's funny that most of this story has been about the fight for the Iron Throne and the one true heir couldn't give to flying hoots about it!

My guess is closer to the end.

I feel like the final scene of the show will be Jon (or whoever it is) taking their seat at the Iron Throne.

If Tormund were to die it would be a tragedy, but I fear that is precisely what will happen next week. Maybe Thoros will bring him back though...never know.

We've only got a few episodes left, period. People have to start dropping like flies sooner or later.
I figured Tormund would cease at the BoB last season, so in my eyes, he's playing with house money - and I love it.

One question I have. Cersei seems to think they still have the gold. Didn't the gold take off burning by the horses? Does she not realize they haven't paid their debts and cannot hire mercenaries? Unsure if there was closure on that point during the episode.

Cersei does have the gold from Highgarden. Lord Randyll Tarly mentions that the gold had safely reached King's Landing to Jaime and Bronn before the attack of the loot train ever occurred.

Yes they made that clear on purpose. Not sure why the carriages holding all of the gold were so far ahead of everyone else, but whatever. It obviously had a plot purpose, having the support of the iron bank is obviously an advantage for Cersei and she needs as many advantages as she can get to make this fight seem somewhat balanced.

The gold was the most important thing from Highgarden because of the debt to the Iron Bank. Now the debt can be repaid and then they can buy an army to fight for them. They have specifically mentioned the Golden Company for sellsowrds this season.

I thought it was ahead because the other carriages were collecting food/grain from the people in the area. I think Bronn mentioned it to Jaime that it would go faster if they just took it instead of asking for contributions to the crown. Dany burned all of the carriages containing food/supplies for Kings Landing.

I was thinking the same thing with Arya/Littlefinger. It was obvious that Littlefinger was setting her up and she couldnt be stupid enough to fall for it. We'll see how it plays out.

I don't really care about the Jaime part. They had to get him away for the story to continue. He would of either been killed or captured which doesn't move the story. Plus, we didn't see what happened before they came out of the water. They could've quickly came up for breath before or there could of been a current. Who know...who cares.

I originally thought that the season would end with part of the wall coming down, but now I think that it will happen in the beginning of the next season. I'm thinking now that they will get in trouble and Dany will come to the rescue with a dragon to save Jon. They keep setting it up with the looks she is giving him last episode. I'm guessing that the closing scene of the season will be a dead dragon being resurrected by the Night King. Hopefully, it will be one of the little ones so they don't lose Drogon.

I see what you did there

I think in the Book it will be Jaehearys... However the show will probably do something like Aegon since there was that one kid who was probably a blackfyre but was posing as Aegon (who may really be Aegon but me thinks he dies).

Interesting theory I heard last night:

The Hound becomes a Wight in the journey north of the wall and is the one that is brought to KL. Clegane-bowl is a battle of zombies

That would be interesting. Although, I would rather he be dead and gone if he wasn't able to talk.

I guess HBO accidentally uploaded the next GoT episode. I didn't read the article - just saw the headline. That seems like a pretty big mistake! I'm not in a hurry to go find it though - if I watched it, it would just be that much longer until I'd get to see the next one.

Lulz you must have read the supposed leaks for these.. Almost word for word is supposed to happen, viserion turns into ice dargon this week, but he blows the wall down with fire in the last one I think. "Supposedly" you can find ep6 online now...

No, I haven't read any leaks. I made my prediction before this episode 6 release stuff. But I guess now I know with your spoiler. With all the dialog early in the season that "the wall has stood for a thousand years" that at least part of it was bound to come down..don't need spoilers to figure that one out. Everyone expected a dragon to eventually be turned, but I just figured it was going to happen this season once Jon decided to go north of the wall and face the army. I know I clicked on this spoiler tab, but make another thread if you want to talk about the episode 6 leak. I'd rather wait and see it on Sunday.

I havent watched the leaked episode so I honestly dont know if what you said is gonna happen or not, just that it was similar with what others have speculated that have read scripts, some of the leaks have been bogus and untrue so you never know. Many of this is easily foreshadowed, heck bookreaders have figured out most of the show yrs before they have even aired.

As far as the pics I posted, those have been around awhile and were fan fiction photoshopped by nerds prior to the season.

Well that's good. At least the episode may not be completely spoiled for me. That's why I didn't read the books until the end of last season. I like to pick up on the clues from the writers and make my own assumptions. Kind of like how the helicopter ride to Jurassic park foreshadowed the plot. Although I didn't realize it until years later, Dr. Grant had two female ends on his seat belt and he "found a way" to get it together. I do like to watch Emergency Awesome and channel on youtube. He has good incite into each episode that I may have missed. The dragon and wall seem likely, but I don't know why they wouldn't save it until the end of this season/beginning of next season. My Missandei mole or Euron poison prediction from previous threads hasn't panned out.

I saw that the "leak" this time was the third party provider for HBO Spain releasing the episode. Avoiding that at all cost.

My theory for this week: Benjen makes a return appearance to help Jon and company. Reasoning: one of the season trailers shows a man on horseback riding north of the Wall (who looks like Jon Snow). No one in the party had horses. Jon pulls a Battle of the Bastards and fights solo and Benjen saves him and gives him horse to ride away.

All the redshirts die in the party and then, of the main 7 from most likely to least likely to die: Thoros, Beric, Tormund, Jorah, Hound, Gendry and then Jon. I think only Thoros and maybe Beric bite it this week. Thoros would be an important death because then there will be no ability to resurrect. Jon is making it until the end. Gendry is the last in the line of House Baratheon (and they aren't bringing him back just to kill him in the next episode). Hound has to have Clegane Bowl. Jorah will likely die saving Dany. Tormund needs to end up with "the big woman." And we finally get to see Beric and his flaming sword and I just don't want that to end in one episode!

I'd love it if your death priority list was true, but I fear that we've seen the last of Tormund...one of the truly great characters in the story.

My list is with some storyline reasoning and then personal bias, lol. Tormund is one of my favorite characters and, at this point, has some of the best lines. He had the best last week with "the big woman" and "which queen" dialogue. If it was just bias, Tormund would be right behind Jon, but, like I said, for storyline, he really doesn't provide much and thus the drop on my list.
