Killer on the loose in Tampa

Where are you staying? If you have some free time in the evening and want to wander over to the Pinellas side of the Bay, we could meet up for dinner. You still have my email addy?
I believe his hotel is somewhere in the blue zone:

Let's do it. I'll track down your e-mail.

I'll be prepared to give the Lockerroom a full status update on Gonolz' stump.

Press conference today with new video from yesterday's shooting. The video isn't much at all and this press conference is grating with the presence of the gotcha national media types who insist on trying to trip up and box in the chief over calling this person a serial killer and other details of case.

TPD Press conference

Oct 9 & Nov 14 video

Live PD highlighted the Tampa killings just now, showing the surveillance video and looking for tips.

There was an army of police out on Friday night from 9pm on, then maybe between 6 and 10 at 3 am. Only problem is that it seemed like every news network and local tv station had a reporter doing a ride along with an officer that night.

Map of SESHnO with details for each murder. It is the first map that includes the dark wooded alleys (not sure if this is all of them), that a few of us following this think are key to the killers ability to avoid detection prior to the crimes and escape so quickly afterwards.

On 11/14, the map shows him last being seen on McBerry per witness reports. However, none of the houses on McBerry with surveillance cameras pointed at the street captured him running on McBerry. It is highly likely that he cut through to the Wilder alley almost immediately.

The Tribal Council has people who overhear things at the dentist's office. Seminole Heights has people who talk to secret service agents in barber shops in Pasco County.

From the Seminole Heights Serial Killer Theories group on FB:
I just had my hair cut at a barbershop in Land O Lakes & the topic of the SH Serial Killer came up. Strange coincidence but a Secret Service agent happened to also be there getting a haircut.

He said he has close friends working on the Seminole Heights case & alluded that investigators have a fairly good idea about the identity of the Killer but do not have enough concrete evidence to file charges and make an arrest.

My friend is the pastor at United Methodist Church right in the middle of the box. He's had to cancel all night events at the church....can't believe they haven't caught the person yet.

Just like with the coaching job, now we wait....

TAMPA POLICE OFFICIAL RESPONSE: Tampa Police are currently investigating a tip that has led detectives to a McDonald's restaurant at E 13th Avenue in Ybor City. At this time detectives have not concluded whether it does or does not have anything to do with recent homicides in the Southeast Seminole Heights area.

According to some people who were inside the McDonald's.....the killer gave his gun in a bag to a friend working the register and said "hold this until I fly out of the country."

Interview with people from inside McDonalds

Starts at 0:30 through 3:10

Live feed of Channel 10 news. I will add times when the live feed ends

Apparently, the person in custody works at the McDonalds. Not sure if today but someone who frequents the restaurant had seen him there and thought he looked like the person in the SH surveillance videos

What a truly strange ending if this is the guy. He walked into the McDonalds he worked and told the manager to hold his gun and that’s how they caught him? So the police really didn’t have anything on this guy before he did something so weird his manager turned him in for having a gun.

We're talking about a person who just ended four lives for no apparent reason. He's not playing with a full deck of cards.

I'm guessing your friend is Pastor Matt. He rang the bells at his church last night around 11:15 after the police chief announced the arrest. He also captured video and posted it.

A number of the employees at the McDonalds gave interviews to the local tv stations. Most of them were more interested in hamming it up in front of the camera and gave some info that turned out not to be accurate. A couple did give quality interviews and gave some decent details.

The killer handed a backpack to his manager and said he was leaving town but said don't look inside the backpack until I am gone. He then went to the Amscot check cashing store however I am not sure how long he was gone. While he was out of the restaurant, the manager talked to another employee about the bag and the gun which they had discovered and they decided to tell an officer who was sitting inside the restaurant. She radioed for backup and they took him down when he returned to the McDonalds.

Why did he finally trip himself up so easily after being so good at eluding detection? My guess is he wasn't so hardened after all and the anxiety of all of it got to him. Was this his way of surrendering so his co-workers could receive the money? Did he just make a dumb error at the wrong time? Maybe he will tell, as word is that he confessed.

Even if he didn't confess, the gun is a match for all four murders. His phone puts him in the area for 3 of the 4 murders and there is blood spatter on at least one of the hoodies taken from the trunk of his car.

That's often times a misconception about people who commit crimes like this but apparently not in this case.

TC...serious question: Has your opinion on the police changed at all during this ordeal?

You seem to have posted or at least implied support for the police during this thread. That's 100% counter to your normal position (that basically all police are evil).

Not trying to start anything...just genuinely curious if anything has changed?

Ha, this is kinda funny, his co-workers at McD's were razzing him that he looked like the killer:

"We would tease him and say he was the killer, because he looked like the pictures," Gail Rogers, a four-year employee at the McDonald’s in Ybor City, told the Tampa Bay Times.
"I called him the killer to his face," she said. "He didn’t like that."
