Mack Leonard leads off the FSU second with a popout to first base.

Weren't those what doomed the 2016 team in OKC? That team was loaded on the mound and at the plate but think they had a brutal game vs. Georgia, if memory serves.
Well it was definitely the issue vs UGa. I think they only gave up 1 earned run in that game, 5 or 6 overall. We came back and won our next 2, but then just played a little bit better Auburn team. Although, I do think we gave up another unearned in that one, but it was pretty even and did lose by one, so...

This year has been crazy though! We give up unearned runs at an alarming rate!! Can't have that now.

Survived that error.

Hallie Wacaser pops out to second. Two quick outs for FSU in the bottom of the second.

I checked. They committed seven errors (!!!!) in that Georgia game. That's what was stuck in my mind.

Two out walk by Katie Dack extends the inning. Same script as last inning but Josie Muffley is a less likely home run hitter.

Muffley hits a hard grounder to third but a nice play takes away a hit from her and she is retired at first.

2-0 FSU after two innings from Hall of Fame Stadium.

Things we don't love to hear as the third inning is getting underway.

Nice catch by Hallie Wacaser charging a ball hit to right field to take away a hit on a hard-hit ball.

And now we're going into another lightning delay. Brutal...

We'll have updates on a restart time when we have one.

Is the NCAA going to make Washington and Utah start at 1 a.m.?

Someone on twitter said (and I think they are right) that games can’t start after 11 now after the NCAA added two more days to the WCWS schedule after the 2021 debacle.

So I think it’ll be played tomorrow before the first elimination game.

Well, if it was on Twitter, it has to be true, right?

You're not wrong but I do believe they added something to prevent that 2021 FSU-Oklahoma State nonsense from ever happening again. The WCWS is now 9 days long when it used to be 7 two years ago.

Is it possible that Coacha brings in a new pitcher when play finally resumes??

Not ruling it out but softball isn't like baseball. Pitchers can bounce back after long delays without arm fatigue or falling off. Kat did just a few weeks ago vs. South Carolina. Now if the delay extends another hour or two, that becomes more of a question potentially.

Per an email from the NCAA PR folks, Game 4 (Utah and Washington) will be played Friday

Makes sense. Hopefully they can finish this one tonight but you have to imagine the clock is ticking on that at this point unless they can start somewhat soon.

Not great that they have reached the point in the rain delay where they have stopped talking about the games and just went to a replay of a game from earlier today.

Sounds like the grounds crew is starting to take the tarp off. First promising sign we have seen.

Problem is the forecast for tomorrow is actually worse. Today's didn't even call for rain.

Just in: 10:55 EST restart. Game will likely go past midnight but if FSU wins, it is off until Saturday night.

Broadcast back. Game starting in a few moments. Across the three-hour mark in delays between the pregame one and the in-game one.

Game gets back underway with OSU batting in the top of the third with the bases empty and one out. Sandercock back in the circle and throws a strike to resume play.

Can hear the "K Time" chant in the crowd as Sandercock gets a looking strikeout, her fourth, against the first batter she faces. Two down.

Sandercock issues a two-out walk to OSU standout Cheyenne Factor.

What a play by the FSU defense to end the inning. OSU singles to center but Kerr fields it cleanly and rockets a throw to Devyn Flaherty, who tags out the batter who was trying to take second.

Would have been runners on the corners or two in scoring position with two outs. Instead, the inning is over.

2-0 FSU, M3
