UPDATE
Not only will there not be two FSU baseball games today like originally intended, there won't even be one. Weather this morning/afternoon in South Bend has forced them to postpone to a Sunday doubleheader which is supposed to begin at 10 a.m.
I'll be back with y'all tomorrow morning.
After a pretty shocking loss Friday night, the Florida State baseball team has a tough task ahead of it on Saturday to keep its streak of no series losses intact.
The No. 4 Seminoles (21-4, 5-2 in ACC) close out their road series at Notre Dame (14-9, 2-8) with a Saturday doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. (ACC Network Extra) at Frank Eck Stadium in South Bend, Ind. They'll need to sweep the doubleheader to take the series after losing Friday's series opener 16-9 behind an eight-run eighth inning for the Irish.
FSU will turn to redshirt junior LHP Joey Volini (6-0, 0.99 ERA) in Game 1 of the doubleheader and sophomore LHP Wes Mendes (4-0, 2.30 ERA) for the second game. Notre Dame is expected to start junior RHP Rory Fox (0-1, 3.66 ERA) in Game 1 and has a TBD pitcher set for the second game.
