I've never had or heard of a dentist saying come in every 3 months. We go every 6 months.

Same for me, including the dentist (the dentist is even pushing for cleanings every three months) and the optometrist.

Well now you have. Twice just on here. I think it's an insurance thing.

My grandmother was a dental hygienist back in the day, and she was a strident advocate for getting cleanings every three months, if not more. She was pretty brutal with a dental scaler.

Did she have access to modern dental technology like x-rays?

As I am not yet an octogenarian, she most certainly had access to dental x-rays throughout the entirety of her career.

I shudder to imagine what going to the dentist was like in the past.

Correct. X-rays were around in the 50’s so we Boomers got a LOT of them, and I’m now wondering if they’re behind the rise in thyroid and head and neck cancers.

Not fun. But once you got Novocaine it was okay.
