I don't really care much for the game -- actually rooting for the weather (come up -20 degrees). Have some prop bets and a $250 square to make it interesting. We have been more or less on the wagon and eating very well during January, so looking at Sunday as a good cheat day. But somewhat stuck on ideas: chicken wings, ribs, dip. Anyone got something good on the menu?

Don't care. We discussed doing something. I will likely turn it on when I work on something around the house. Perhaps when I am studying.

Will be at our annual neighborhood party (buddy has a 800 sq foot bar built off the back of a 2200 square foot house)....making these (everybody brings a dish/app):

I’ll probably forget to turn the game on and fall asleep around 8:30 or 9 if it’s like most Sundays. As for food, Sundays I usually grill if the weather’s nice...which it’s not supposed to be in Tally as of now.

Doubt we watch it. Don't really care for pro sports and it seems the SB commercials aren't near as good as they were. Will just be a normal Sunday for us.

Normally I would cook something good, but I’m still moving into the new house (moved out of the old yesterday...will probably still have our garage stacked with junk for another month or more) so I’m thinking about just ordering some smoked wings, mac n cheese and greens from Mission BBQ instead.

Neighbor always hosts and they have a good spread. I am taking some buffalo chicken dip and maple/bacon rice krispy treats.

FYI there are a couple of tricks to improving the standard buffalo dip.

1) Use chicken thighs not breast meat. The dark meat tastes far more like actual wing meat than breast meat AND won’t overcook and get mealy nearly as quickly.

2) Throw in a teaspoon full of Marmite or Vegemite for extra umami/hidden flavor.

3) Do not use cheddar cheese, it has no business being in a “buffalo dip”. Not only does the flavor not match a buffalo wing, but all cheddars melt poorly and tend to separate into oil slicks on top of the dip and mealy little bits inside the dip. Stick to either just cream cheese OR add a creamy but good melting blue cheese like a Blue Brie, Stilton or even Roquefort.

4) Don’t use bottle ranch dressing, either make your own or at least use the Hidden Valley seasoning packet in sour cream and/or buttermilk.

5) Toss in a little extra dried Hidden Valley ranch seasoning into the dip.

Red beans and rice is our main for sunday.
Will also have ribs, chicken wings, salad....some dips.

Had the birthday cake for breakfast. Just finished making, well helping the awesome boyfriend, ok, actually watching him make chicken wings, spinach squares. I did make the chocolate covered strawberries though. Honest!

How did I miss this? Which house won the lottery?

We ended up getting a “small” 3 BR 3 BA on Four Oaks as we’re likely only going to be here another year or two and it’s perfectly sized as a rental. We got a pretty good deal on it ($20k from seller for closing costs and upgrades) and per square foot it ended up being the second or third cheapest that’s sold in Southwood over the last five years per the market research. Looking at rental prices in the area there’s about $800 left on the bone after mortgage and insurances so we shouldn’t take a bath on it whenever we move.

We just moved out last Thursday and it will probably be a month or so before we start having people over (ie are out of boxes).
