Tiger Woods Used to Be a Big Deal on Here

Some pretty funny comments in here. Yes I get people are flawed; I guess my anger is really how this is already being explained away as popping some pills by accident and having a reaction.
I don't think he really has a leg to stand on as it is still illegal under Florida law, but I can completely understand impacts drugs have on people, even prescribed medications. One of the first things my doctor asked my wife about on my use of Keppra was whether or not it had led to mood swings. Drugs have side effects, which sometimes don't always present themselves after one use. Like I said, he is still guilty and shouldn't be driving, but I don't see this the same as a guy who downed a fifth of Jack and popped some pills and made a decision to get behind the wheel. Different drugs are going to effect everyone differently.

The bigger question I have is why he would be out so late? I can semi see this happening at 9pm where he took some pain pills realized he needed something from the store and tried to run out before they kicked in, but 3am?

He's just livin up the bachelor life man. Why wouldn't you be out at 3a on a holiday if you were him? Unless, of course, you know... you had JUST taken sleeping pills and whatnot.

Sorry I don't buy the I took a new pill or a couple of new pills and had some odd reaction. Tiger has been taking pain meds for a while with his multiple surgeries and I would guess he has likely taken sleeping pills before; just based on his schedule. Throw in the all the questions about PEDs and it is not like Tiger was some sales guy who saw a doc in a box and made a dumb mistake about a couple of pills. But hey they have already started to play the just a simple mistake, oh poor Tiger talk.

As crappy as he played recently he still has more wins than Phil Michelson since 2012.

Google 'ambien stories'
Dude was probably operating between worlds.

Sometimes makes the wife a freak...

Yeah, this sounds plausible. Ambien mixed with Vicodin or some anti inflammatory could make for an interesting night.

Ambien aint no joke. If you take it and don't lay down immediately, once it kicks in you will act and see things that aren't real. Maintaining a thought or trying to have a discussion is impossible.

I don't take it anymore for that very reason.

Personally, I've never had an issue with his private life, including this incedent. Plenty of people have driven under the influence and done far worse. And I hate that this is being aired out so much on TV and in social media. It's not doing anybody any good. Bottom line is the dude is an addict and exhibits addictive behavior in all facets of his life. I really hope this is made to clear to him and that he gets the help he needs to be happy the rest of his life. All too often people don't get help and they feel trapped and they kill themselves. At the end of the day, Tiger is no different than any one of us...

If he made $45 mil last year, why is he driving himself when he's all messed up?

You don't know what you're doing on Ambien. It's well documented. He has a history with this drug and I would be surprised if he wasn't taking it that night. My guess he was at somebody's house, took Ambien, was dreaming about golfing in California, 'woke up' and took off in his car like he was going to the course. This is not uncommon for things like this to occur while taking it. There are tons and tons of stories on this if you care to google them. And you can tell the dude looked more tired than messed up. Watching the video, it looked to me that he was in a highly sedated state. Out on his feet if you will...

You keep assuming that someone on (prescription) drugs is making completely sober/rational decisions. That's not necessarily the case.

$45M does make it easier to catch a cab or Uber. That said, nobody who's messed up should be driving. There's no excuse. None.

Ambien wasn't one of the 4 drugs he told the cops about. That's just speculation. That said, he should know the possible side effects and interactions of different meds.

That's what people don't get that say he's rich, he shouldn't have been driving, he should have called a car service, etc..... He was already under the influence and it is too late to make good decisions at that point. Just like drinking at a bar and then deciding you are ok to drive home after getting drunk.

How is that any different than getting drunk and then deciding to drive home? It's not.

I know but he still has a history with it. And like I said, it's just a hunch. He could think that Ambien is not a drug, it's just a sleeping pill. Again, speculation...

Or he could have been in an ambien induced trance and had no recollection of ever getting behind the wheel. I had a buddy die doing basically the same thing.

The Manson Family defense...It was Charlie/Ambien that is at fault, not Tex Watson, Patricia Krenwinkle, Leslie Van Houten / Tiger Woods

Except it's well documented that a side effect of Ambien is sleep walking and no recollection of your activity while doing so. If Tiger is taking Xanax or any other Benzo on the reg, he's got bigger issues than a lot of people probably realize. Long term use of those drugs can be a total mind warp...

Xanax was though and for some reason the police redacted that from his statement. It's hard to know how those drugs will affect you from time time taking them. One time you can be ok and the next you can be totally blacked out. But either way he shouldn't have been driving.

Some tour pros are coming out now saying Tiger has had a problem with pills for a while. Azinger was one I know. These pills are so addicting and if you have an addictive type personality, like Tiger dies, you have to use extreme caution while taking them.

Tiger has been on lots of stuff for a long time. Some of it is prescribed by a doctor. Some of it is not FDA approved. And some of it falls in an entirely different category.

This is a complex dude whose body is now systematically failing. Actually pretty easy to connect the dots, but Big Golf and the media continue to spin it as "bad luck" and "trying to rebound from injuries." Laughable, really.

Laughable, really.

I used to think so too but not anymore. This is serious and if he doesn't get help soon he will join a long and distinguished list of people that have died while taking prescribed benzodiazepines...
