Some updates from this morning.

James Blackman was going through the drills we watched. Was jogging around pretty good. Not sure if he will do the team drills, but he seemed better than you might expect.

Looked like Brendan Gant was working with the outside linebacker/Edge group during the early portion. Warner was still with the inside linebackers.

Hamsah was in the early short-yardage drill but seemed to be limping afterward. Not sure if he just tweaked something. Didn’t look super serious.

Cam Akers had a couple of really nice runs in that drill. The offense won several of those battles, but the defense came back at the end with a couple of nice stops.

Some people asked about Emmett Rice’s health. He looked fine this morning and was going through drills.

Didn’t see Jauan Williams back yet.

Aslan and Austin will have video coming.

* Kendal said he wasn't surprised that Hornibrook handled the moment well. "He's a pro." Said that was one of the things they liked about getting him -- his experience and poise.

He said he told James that the selflessness he showed on Saturday, cheering Hornibrook on, etc., was the most impressive thing he's seen him do.

If James can't go this week, Jordan would be Alex's backup. He said one thing Alex really likes about this offense is the spread nature. He's used to having all 22 players close to the line of scrimmage. He likes having this much room to operate.

* Cam talked about his physical running style and how he doesn't want to leave any yard (or crumb) out there. "I've got a chip on my shoulder." Says he'll carry the ball as much as they want.

* Gavin talked about his blocking ... and the play where he blocked two guys on the same play. He said everyone in the meeting room got excited when that play came up.

* Tamorrion talked about his touchdown. Said he actually made a call to Hornibrook when he saw the blitz to let Hornibrook know he'd be open. He said Taggart told him to make sure he doesn't get a penalty with the peace sign during the play, but he didn't sound like he's going to take it out of his repertoire. He said Akers' physical running style inspires everyone and opens things up for the WRs.

* Gabe Nabers talked about his expanded role in the passing game and the offense trying to avoid lulls in the second and third quarters.

James Blackman is walking into practice dressed out. He has a brace on his left knee, of course.
