FSU snapped a streak of 19 quarters without a passing touchdown last night. And yet, somehow FSU may miss Jordan Travis even more for what he brought to the running game.

Overall, the FSU offense is missing Travis more than anyone could have imagined.

Florida State Athletics Director Michael Alford spent an hour with the Osceola going over the most pressing issues for the Seminoles and for collegeiate athletics, offering some candid observations. Each of the topics discussed affect the income and expense columns of the FSU Athletics budget Alford must find a way to balance. On the expense side, the expense side of the ledger includes $30 million in additional annual expenses with the House v NCAA anti-trust settlement, which requires revenue sharing and expansion of scholarships, the addition of women's lacrosse and its impact on Title IX and the construction of the football building and Doak Campbell Stadium, which is one generator of additional revenue along with the new ACC Success Initiative. We also addressed the litigation FSU is engaged in with the ACC in an effort to generate more revenue and Alford offered some candid onservations.

Kind of poetic that now Memphis is coming to town to push our in. This is the worst three game stretch of my life(when you throw the playoff committee in the mix). Just pathetic and I don’t think it’s too early to start playing for the future, if there is any on this roster.

One thing that absolutely drives me insane is the way our players constantly try to strip the ball. Look I understand we want to create turnovers, but damn! I’d love to see a stat for YAS ( Yards after strip ). We are giving up sooooo many yards. We have to tackle first period! We are stripping at the ball like we are down in the 4Q and it’s a must have TO situation.

The Florida State football team has had to stew on its underwhelming 2024 debut last Saturday in Dublin for over a week.

After watching the entirety of a hectic Week 1 slate, the Seminoles (0-1, 0-1 in ACC) finally get their chance to show that 24-21 loss to Georgia Tech wasn't representative of their team on Monday night (7:30 p.m. on ESPN) inside Doak Campbell Stadium as the capper of Week 1 when they host Boston College in their first home game of the season.

The Seminoles will look to show improvement after getting out-physicalled by the Yellow Jackets in Dublin, allowing 6.5 yards per play, failing to record any sacks and managing just 3.2 yards per rush in the loss. There may also be some changes to FSU's rotation vs. BC. FSU made three changes to its Week 1 depth chart this week and may make a few other unannounced changes on gameday.

Despite FSU's season-opening loss, it is still favored by 16 points against the Eagles Monday night. The game at FSU will be the first of Bill O'Brien's tenure as BC head coach after he replaced Jeff Hafley, who left this offseason to be defensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers. FSU leads the all-time series over Boston College 16-5 and has won the last five games in the series dating back to 2018 and 12 of the last 13 games vs. BC. However, BC nearly pulled off a big upset last season in Chestnut Hill, falling 31-29.

Of note for any DirecTV subscribers, an ongoing dispute means that the ESPN family of networks is not available to you. As such, any DirecTV customers will be unable to watch Monday night's game on their televisions. All other cable providers currently have a deal in place with ESPN.

This will also be the first game played in the reduced-capacity Doak Campbell Stadium due to ongoing renovations that will finish ahead of the 2025 season. All of the bleachers on the west (home) sideline have been removed and 7,000 temporary chairback seats have been added to replace some of the lost capacity.

We'll be monitoring pregame if sophomore wide receiver Hykeem Williams is able to make his season debut vs. Boston College after missing the Georgia Tech game due to injury. Head coach Mike Norvell expressed some optimism in his press conference last Wednesday about how Williams was progressing but was noncommittal about his potential availability. Alabama transfer linebacker Shawn Murphy is also trying to make his FSU debut after missing the GT game due to injury.

These types of games are why we all love college football. For a first game out these two teams put on a nice performance. I said it on Seminole Sidelines - I was a big fan of Caleb Williams. That being said I feel that Lincoln went against what he liked to do offensively. While Lincoln runs the air raide - unlike others who run it he likes to run the ball. You saw it last night that he ran the football. He also utilized the tight ends. Miller Moss fits what Lincoln likes to do more. Miller Moss is accurate throwing the football. He also stands in there and will take a hit before releasing the football.

Anthony Lynn Jr....I would like to be his agent today. He is a stud as a DC. He made ucla very good on defense. He just turned usc around in less than a year. He was a great addition. He may become the first 3 million dollar DC. He and Lance Guidry at Miami will both be paid.

LSU qb - I liked what I saw from him last year in their bowl game. He is going to be a good one. Funny lsu fans hate Brian Kelly today and think he will never win. Fan bases should stay off message boards. LSU program was a mess after Coach O left. Coach O got them a title but their roster when he left had no talent. LSU is recruiting very well. This idea that you have to win in year 3 is BS. Michigan did not win in year with JH. While the transfer portal can help turn a program around quicker - I also think it can stunt your growth just as quickly. LSU is a year away. They have a qb who can win a title. They are a flawed team but LSU will have a good team.

Duce Robinson - he was Dominic Robinson....I remember when DROB was recruited by FSU. He was the next Deion. In the Florida / Cali game DROB was one of the best layers in the game. He never lived up to the hype. I do believe he did catch the ball on 4th and 14 against Florida before Rix hit PK to win the game. His son is the real deal. Man fsu could use him this year - he is a better version of Johnny Wilson.

I laughed when people thought Lincoln would struggle in the BIG 10. When he rolls his teams out against Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa - scoring won't be a problem. I think he had success early on in that conference.

With our current LB room I thought 2 players who would benefit from a change. I feel like Ashlynd Baker and Aaron Hester. I’ve been high on him since I watched his film. He checked off a lot of boxes. He is 6’2 244 and he has put in the time. He can’t be worse than some. Baker brings size, length, speed. I’m not sure why lil to no PT. If he can tackle well LB should be a shoe in.
