My eyes did not lie...

FSU, Michigan, Washington and Georgia were the four best teams all year. The NCAA and ESPN should be ashamed of themselves. Michigan and Alabama would have both struggled to beat FSU with a full squad and Tate. Yes, FSU could have beaten Michigan or Alabama with Tate. Why, because when Trey Benson steps on the field against either team, he is the best running back. When Coleman and Wilson along with Bell step on the field against Bama or Michigan they have the better unit. If you had give Mike Norvell two weeks with Tate and this team, they would have had a legit shot at winning it all. Georgia and Washington to me were the two teams I felt were bad matchups. I have watched Washington all year and going score for score with them would have been tough. Washington has the best offense in the country....And their receiving corps is the real deal. Yes their defense is not great but they put so much pressure on you to keep up it does not matter. They are similar to LSU a few years ago. Washington defense while not great is not terrible. They get needed stops and get their offense back the ball...

Alabama, once again Kurt, and the rest of ESPN owe FSU an apology. That team was Saban worst since his first couple of seasons. They are very well coached but Michigan dominated Alabama today for three quarters. Bama was in the game because Michigan was trying to give the game away. I won't even get into the refs...But Michigan QB was tossed ten yards out of bounds that is a penalty for FSU every time. Alabama OL also chocked hold Michigan DL a few times and big plays happen. I will give Saban credit because this team does not have a QB. He does not have an elite OL or running game. His team found ways to win but there is one FACT....FSU was unbeaten and untied this year. They dominated Louisville offense...THEY EARNED THE RIGHT TO BE IN THE PLAYOFFS....And yes they got boatraced against Georgia...But UGA was not in the playoffs.....FSU had a legit shot to make it interesting.

The two teams that ESPN, Cowherd and Joe Klatt pumped up all year were Ohio State and Bama. And while both programs are great and I have a ton of respect for Saban....You don't get rewarded for past success. You don't tell a team that went unbeaten and those kids worked so hard to say to them...YOU ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH WHEN THE FACTS DON'T LIE. It is ok to admit that Bama and Ohio State are not as good. The reality is Oregon would beat both teams this year.

Golf PGSF FedEx Cup Week 1: The Sentry Sign Up is Open

Twenty-one of the top 25 players in the Official World Golf Ranking will competing in the no-cut event with an overall prize money payout of $20 million.
In addition to McIlroy, the tournament will also be missing its defending champion, Jon Rahm, who rallied from eight strokes back with 17 holes to play in the final round a year ago to win the title by two over Collin Morikawa. The Spaniard, of course, made waves last month when he signed with the LIV Golf League in 2024.

Given that the first LIV event wasn’t until February, questions arose as to whether Rahm might still be able to compete at The Sentry and the American Express later in January, another tournament in which he claimed the title. PGA Tour officials quickly squashed that notion, suspending Rahm from the tour and updating the FedEx Cup rankings from 2023 to take him out of his No. 18 spot and move all others up accordingly. That allowed Mackenzie Hughes to move from 51st to 50th and gain entry into this coming week’s event and all other 2024 signature events.

Kapalua: Plantation

Lahaina, HI

202PANELISTS
From Golf Digest Architecture Editor emeritus Ron Whitten:Most golf fans are familiar with Kapalua Golf Club’s Plantation Course, home of the PGA Tour's opening event each year. Located on the north shore of the Hawaiian island of Maui, the Plantation was built from open, windswept pineapple fields on the pronounced slope of a volcano and is irrigated by sprinklers pressured solely by gravity. As the first design collaboration by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, it unveiled their joint admiration for old-style courses. The blind drive on the fourth, the cut-the-corner drives on the fifth and sixth are all based on tee shots found at National Golf Links. So, too, are its punchbowl green and strings of diagonal bunkers. It's also a massive course, built on a huge scale, Coore says, to accommodate the wind and the slope and the fact that it gets mostly resort play.So it's a big course. But what sets it apart in my mind are the little things. When I played the course years ago with Coore, it took only one hole for me to appreciate one of its subtleties. We were on the tee of the par-3 second, an OK hole but nothing riveting, nothing like the canyon-carry par-3 eighth or the ocean-backdropped par-3 11th. The second sits on a rare flat portion of the property. The green sits at a diagonal, angling left to right, and there's a string of bunkers staggering up the right side of the green. The first bunker appears to be directly in front of the green but is actually 40 yards short of it. When pointed out to me, I called it Gingerbread. Bill disagreed."The wind quarters off your left shoulder from behind you," he pointed out. "The green goes ever so slightly away from you from front to back and left to right. It is a very obvious situation, given the wind condition and the angle of this green; you know you should hit a shot left-to-right to fit the shot with the green. "But if the flag is at the front, there’s no way to fly that ball all the way to the hole and stop it close. You may stop it somewhere on the green, but nowhere within a reasonable putt. So you have to aim short of the green. They maintain the approaches so beautifully over here—firm approaches mowed at probably a quarter of an inch; you can literally putt from out there if you chose to do so. "But that brings that first bunker in play," Coore continued. "When the flag is up front, you are absolutely required to land your ball just over that first bunker in order to get it to bounce and run to that front pin position."Kapalua's second is a simple-looking hole with a great deal of thought behind it. I suppose a lot of present-day architects would not have placed that forwardmost bunker on the hole, in the interests of playability for high-handicap resort golfers. But most of the old-time architects probably would have used such carry bunkers, especially in the days before irrigation, when greens were hard as a rock and every approach shot had to be bounced aboard.Another reason why studying the history of architecture might just help your score.

Football Where does FSU football fall in way-too-early 2024 rankings?

A look at where a number of national college football outlets have FSU ranked in the way-too-early top 25 rankings for the 2025 season that were released last night/this morning?

Football Legendary FSU RB Warrick Dunn elected to College Football Hall of Fame

Just announced: FSU football legend Warrick Dunn has been elected into the 2024 class of the College Football Hall of Fame.

I’m insane

And I’ve been guzzling koolaid for a while now. . . But I firmly believe this offense will be potent. The improved talent, size, and depth of the OL may be the biggest reason. . . But the legs of Travis, his experience and time in the system, and now some playmakers at WR should all add up to be greater than the sum of the parts. One aspect helps another, which helps another. . .

Last season, even when Travis completed a nice pass, there just wasn’t any YAC’s by the receivers. We may see some of that this season. The running backs should not only be able to get tough yards, but have the ability to get chunk plays at any time. Sustain drives long enough and eventually one of the playmakers will break one (including Travis with his legs).

I know most will have a “I’ll believe it when I see it” type attitude, but I can’t wait to see this machine go. Hopefully we can really get some big leads so the second string can get some real minutes to continue to build for the future like we did back in the day.

Go Noles!

Oregon State transfer DE Sione Lolohea now expected to visit FSU

Nothing has been confirmed yet, but I believe chances are greater than not that FSU gets a visit from Oregon State transfer DE/Edge Sione Lolohea in the very near future. Of course, he was teammates with new FSU QB DJU who is publicly campaigning for Lolohea to join him in Tallahassee on twitter.

He was second team All-Pac12 in 2023 and 8.5 TFLs among his 47 tackles this past season. Lolohea is 6-3 and 240-pounds.
