ACC Network. You'll have to watch it on the app or ESPN3.

Unfortunately, even though I pay an absolutely ridiculous amount for the all/everything package with Centurylink and get everything from the SEC Network, Big 10 Networks, PAC Networks, Foxsports Networks, BYU Network and every obscure sport channel you can think of, it does NOT grant me access to the ACC Network on ESPN3. And I have a birthday party for a friend’s kid I’m going to scheduled by the wife at the same time so I will miss at least the first quarter if I decide to go to the game. So unfortunately I’ll probably miss it.

I couldn’t find where they do any replays either.

Archon 95 posted this over on the free Aggie board yesterday:
"
So I'm working from home today... I'm an FSU booster (GC) and thought I leave a post here

So I went turkey hunting with Coach Fisher last year. He's a great father... Ill end it there. He's pretty self absorbed, and I believe burnt out. I was asked about all sorts of nuggets when I got back from my trip with Coach Fisher. My synopsis was, "I could tell you 3 things. 1) He loves his kids 2) He hates Hugh Freeze 3) I think he has 4-5 years left max coaching. If it weren't for the divorce and the need to raise $$ for his kids treatments, he would be retired to a cabin to hunt and fish all day...."

FSU has finished with top 5 classes every year... but since 2015, aside from a flukish Orange Bowl, that FSU backed into, we don't have really a single quality win in the last 3 years. (talk all you want of the record over UM and UF, but both have been crap most of the time) -and this is with a roster full of a who's who of 4 and 5 star talent. We lost 35-3 to BC this year... BC!!! FSU has 4 guys on defense that are still projected to be 1st round picks. We gave up 18... 18!! tackles for loss vs WF. We didn't have a two score lead against a single team until we played Syracuse. We were crap last year too... were it not for Dalvin Cook we'd probably have been 6-6 too. Go back and watch games like the FSU-GT game in 2015, the FSU-Houston Peach Bowl, The 2011 FSU-UVA or WF games, the 2016 FSU vs Louisville or UNC games. Your eyes will roll back in your head. Really you canned a coach that went 7-5 this year for one that went 5-6 (3 and 5 in the ACC - wins over DUKE/WF/SYR! 10-10 in his last 20 ACC games btw). We were married to Jimbo and couldn't fire him (35mm buyout). Aside from the Jameis years, his tenure has been if you were giving a grade - B/B+. Yeah I know he recruited Jameis - no he didn't actually... Deyeamune Craig did. Jimbo is great salesman. He will get you some recruits, but you guys already recruit well. I will make these predications 1) Jimbo will not finish out the length of this contract - he'll quit or you will fire him 2) someone will get fired for wasting 75mm on him. This was truly an amateur move, and a terrible trade for you.

This was a year where Jimbo was going to have to can essentially his ENTIRE staff (the staff he chose, and fought for raises and new contracts for)... so a full clean house, free of charge courtesy of you guys? Count me as a huge Aggie Fan... B/C we owe you.... HUGE!!!!"

Possibly Odell but that's the decision of the new coach.

Of course its the new coaches decision, but do we have any position coaches that someone new would say "Damn, that dude is legit." Everyone has bagged on Tricket and Kelly, but I've never heard of much positive comments. Vic has to go, I've not been impressed by the strength nor conditioning and the team has had some of the most injuries of any season I can remember. RB coach (but take away his special teams responsibilities). Keep Haggins as he is a fixture. ?

I would think just the opposite is true. The HC is going to be held responsible for everything that happens on the field. Wouldn't you want to select the people to support you?
If the new coach were to make ridiculous choices, shouldn't there be some veto power? Our own government's appointments are made only after advice and consent...

I see both sides, but hard to believe a coach worth getting wouldn't insist on the right to choose his own assistants (within budget).

Agreed. Perhaps some clauses that would allow for executive challenge, but its the head coach's staff. I think most programs EXPECT the head coach to select their staff.

If they don't, then they're establishing a very poor precedent by ceding so much power right off the bat.
Disagree. I consult with my boss, but my team is mine to pick, as it should be. It would be a poor decision not to retain Odell, but that decision should rest with the HC and only the HC. Plenty of rumors were abound that Jimbo had some meddling by the administration and boosters with his staff. That is a poor way to run a program.

I was responding to a question with included the phrase "any say"...Please inform me about any hierarchy where someone down on the ladder can make personnel decisions without any input from the higher ups.

Who do you think within the FSU athletic administration is qualified to make those choices?
Ok...Let me give an example: Let's say we're trying to hire Coach "A". Coach A's agent tells the administration that he'll sign only if we give his chosen coordinators more money than we can afford. We have no right to say no in that case and try to negotiate down on the price??

Picking staff is a personnel issue, total salaries are a budget issue. Those are two separate things.

It is part of the overall hiring process though...Can't separate the two.
Yes, you can. The administration gives the head coach a budget to work with, the head coach decides who to hire and how much to pay them, working within the limits of the total budget. How do you think it works?

If the HC has been given a set amount so that anything he allots assistants comes out of that stipend( i.e., out of his own pocket), then the higher ups have already had their say then.

Maya: [interrupting] A hundred percent he's there. Okay, fine, ninety-five percent because I know how certainty freaks you guys out, but it's a hundred.

They can't make him but they can impress upon him thier feelings about Odell, and they will. Who wouldn't keep a guy that played on the team, recruits well, coaches well, puts guys in the NFL, knows everything about the school and is beloved by the fans. Yeah, let's go with the wildcard.

I think it'd be nuts for a new coach not to keep Odell. He's the new coach's instant "in" with the players. I get it's just ULM but they all looked free and loose today, and playing for each other.

I would say not keeping both Odell and Lawing would be a huge mistake, both are well established and would be a benefit to the new staff. Taggart's current DL coach has only been with him this year and was hired away from Washington State.

The only other coaches on the team I would consider keeping would be Graham and Brewster.

As to the conversation, frankly I think some of you are making a bigger deal of this than reality. When you have high quality people, who are very good at their jobs, and a new head coach comes in, he knows that retaining some of the staff if a significant step towards rebuilding a team.

Wilcox is simply incompetent. Publicly agreeing with Jimbo's complaints and making us look like a second-rate program? Wth?

"Jimbo is one of the top coaches in the country. ... I'm worried if I have a coach that's not being pursued every year. So every year, he's being pursued. It finally got to the point where there was a pursuit out there that we couldn't match," Wilcox said.

"We're working on it. We're getting there. The ACC Network is going to be up in '19, so there will be additional resources coming into Florida State, just as all the other ACC schools, so at some point in time we may have the resources Texas A&M has, but it got to a point where a school came calling and they basically allowed Jimbo to make history and we just weren't able to do that here."

Last month, Fisher publicly questioned the Florida State administration's commitment to the football program, and that didn't set well with some. Especially because Florida State has built a new indoor football facility, modernized the coaches offices, locker room and meeting space and done an extensive renovation to Doak Campbell Stadium. Plans are in the works for a standalone football facility.

I'm sure there are people who thought those comments were unfounded, and I would say what we've done here since I've been here in the past five years, we've done a lot, and our booster organization, they've been able to help us do all those things and they will continue to help us do all those things," Wilcox said.

"I think for Jimbo, he needs to be at a place that has maybe everything already in place, and as he would tell you he would always push every year and that was part of his way of saying we need to continue to grow, so we finally got to a place where we weren't maybe able to keep up with the level or the time frame of growth that he was looking for. I think he was able to get everything he was looking for at Texas A&M. We're very happy for him. We're very happy for Texas A&M. We wish him well, but we're going to be there, too. We are the best program in the country."

Ugh, that was painful to read. And I agree, Wilcox is an idiot for saying all of that.

Truth hurts?
They bought our coach with a record price tag.
They spend way more on football than we do.
How would you like to spin it?

Agreed. The correct response is to say we chose not to match Texas A&M's offer. This is such a weak response and feeds directly into the narrative that the ACC can't match the SEC's resources. Jimbo will surely use this against us in recruiting.

I’m ok with all of this. A&M paid too much. They basically paid $75 million to have a coach with a NC on his resume.

FSU paid way too much by giving Jimbo the $38 million guaranty. It was way too risky to FSU given his performance since Winston, especially this year, and his poor job of picking and retaining assistant coaches.

His performance was bad here and getting worse. It was the worst season at FSU for nearly 40 years. Think about that.

well catching up on this thread was like re-living the last week. I've at one point or another felt every emotion, kinda like the 12 stages I guess.

As for yesterday, that was a wonderful experience. For the small crowd that was there. Odell was given a standing O and was cheered every time the cameras found him. Then late in the 4th they threw up the '89 Seminole Rap, featuring you-know-who. The place fell apart. We got a delay of game and nobody cared. He got THREE powerade baths at the end of the game.

After this crap season it just FELT GOOD to feel good about the team, even if it was just ULM. We were told, after all, that they were a high powered offense and would put up points on our D. Not so much it turns out.

So I think yesterday was a good close to the season, just because it felt hopeful.
