#100pagesnatty Thread 11/08/18 #63pagesnattynumber1 #106pagesnattynumber2

If we're insisting on hiring a minority for some crazy reason, why can't our backup be Dino Babers instead of Strong?

Agree on minority hire. I just want the best person available. Hell, if its an Asian female, I don't care, just make it the best coach we can get.

I still maintain Strong's time at Texas, the tone was set on day 1 that they didn't want a black coach (and his domestic situation) and he had to purge his roster. I wouldn't be opposed to him, but would really like him to show success at a large program before FSU takes him. That said, if he is the best available, he should be considered and not put on some black list because of the time at Texas. He had staff issues when there, FSU knows how that feels.

Sounds like a lot of Oregon folks are starting to feel like we did last week. Either stay or go, just make your decision and get things over with.

What cracks me up is that they seem to not have known what they were getting in bed with by hiring a coach with Sexton as the agent. That last paragraph reads like a mid-major school trying to "come up", its been 72 hours since they offered the extension.

Strong absolutely got screwed by UT and Sumlin also got screwed by aTm, but I wouldn’t want either simply because of the optics. FSU shouldn’t be taking cast off coaches like South Carolina.

Once they rehabilitate their reps, sure. But Strong didn’t do much with a stacked roster WT left him at USF.

I think Strong would do really well at a military academy.

Hopefully he signs so he can get some of these recruits back in the fold.

I was told that IF we get Taggart that a certain excellent recruit that would make our class may take a visit with us after all.

I'm surprised Taggert is leaving Oregon's facilities for the gulag we have in Tally. I recall reading that's phil knight built a palace. He's never going to be able to recruit if our players have to watch a 65 " tv instead of a 70"

Keep in mind the source, but a correspondent for the tiny POS paper in Hogtown claims that we agreed with WT and they’re finalising paperwork signing now.

Again, take that for what it’s worth.

So a prominent Oregon QB recruit who was visited in Arizona today said Taggart preached his personal relationship not really the facilities at Oregon. So perhaps an excellent sign as he might be laying the groundwork for a switch to FSU. I’d link the article but it might run afoul of the “recruiting talk” rule.

Said recruit is 6'5" and a buck ninety. We've already got one of those.

I want someone to film his arrival from same exact camera view as the Booger Eaters did for Jimbo. Except I want to see three national championship and three heisman trophy’s on display. Maybe get Ward or Winston or Weinke or heck all three there to greet him. I want golden girls and cheerleaders forming the walkway, not some silly red carpet. And finally throw in the Marching chiefs and a few thousand fans doing the chop in unison.

One of the radio guys tweeted "These boots are made for _______" and I posited "Going 8 - 8"

Done deal...

While I knew Taggart liked FSU growing up in Palmetto, I didn't learn until today (from a couple of people) that the rest of his family was/is fanatical about the 'Noles. I mean, huge FSU fans. - SOURCE

Not that I ever thought this was a real option (unlike some of the talking heads), but it looks like Fuentes is out of the running.

“For me it’s been easy. I’ve declined to talk to everybody that’s come along,” Fuente said during a bowl game conference call on Sunday. “It’s a pretty easy answer for me. I haven’t been interested in going down that road.”

“I think everybody knows I’m incredibly happy at Virginia Tech I think I’ve proved it in my short time here. I would never speculate on any other jobs other than say we’ve been approached, and I’ve declined to talk to anybody.

“It’s pretty much been nipped in the bud right from the start.”
