Sweden has the better pedigree. With a good bit of success in the 90s and way back in the 50s-60s. One of them is going to make the QFs and they are both capable of beating England/Colombia but I dont think that either have the ability to put up a fight in the Finals against a France or Brazil.

Todays game could be very entertaining as they are equally talented so can play attacking. Or they both sit back and wait for the other to press and seek to counter and its boring boring boring lol

These tall Swedes can’t get their boot over the ball and are skying everything and the Swiss are a mess in front of the goal. This game is going to PK

W/my luck, I’ll get tickets to the knockout round in 2026, and I’ll draw a match like Switzerland/Sweden.

From yesterday to today is kinda like watching a high level travel team tournament one day, then going today to a YMCA Rec game for 5 year olds.

It is both funny and ridiculous how much ground the referees let guys "steal" on throw-ins. A minute ago, Sui knocked the ball out of bounds about a step from the midfield line. By the time the Swede threw it in, he was damn near at the top of the penalty box.

Pretty exciting finish to the snoozefest. That looked like it was inside the box

I don't think that's a penalty. The foul looked like it was just outside the box.

What a crazy tournament! Only three of the FIFA-ranked top 10 are left...And two & three are playing each other in the quarters.

FIFA rankings are pretty poor. With qualifications grouping good teams with a fair amount of minnows and teams selecting their friendlies its not overly difficult for a country that might legitimately be say in the mid teens to 20s to crack the top 10. I think the Swiss and Poland both did and there are not top 10 squads IMO.

James not fit to start for Colombia. That is a big miss. Rooting for England so hope that the 3 Lions can take advantage of his absence. Hes a key component for Colombia.

Get ready to hear this chant for the next 2 hours, non-stop. The first few times it's pretty catchy. By the 125th time, you're ready to jam the horn players' instruments down their throats!

1,2,3,4...
Whoa....The English are in Russia
Whoa....Drinking all your vodka
Whoa....England's going all the way

Based solely on what I saw of the Swiss today, I wouldn't put them in the top 10 of the squads who made it to the round of 16. In fact, they looked the weakest of anyone I saw in the quarters.
