So Where Do We Stand on that SEC Invitation

This is still happening, right?

The current (actually ongoing) suckage is going to hurt FSU at every level. We are obviously now stuck in the ACC forever, and recruiting, ticket sales and donations will also feel the pinch. The “climb” actually now looks like a “nose dive,” and this is going to hurt way more than anyone is prepared for. Sigh…..

Start Chubba going fwd

Hmmm…
I’m beginning to think that Chubba may end up being the starter at QB at some point in time in 2021. Just a gut feeling.
And that is not a “throw in the towel” scenario either.
I believe the young man has a bright future, but as with most young QB’s, has plenty to learn. And Dillingham seems to indicate that Chubba is learning to get rid of the ball instead of taking a sack and throwing it away when nothing is there.

I believe that we are significantly improved at QB and hope that Milton and JT can stay healthy, but I have my doubts.

Anyway, Chubba would benefit from a healthy JT and Milton but one gets the feeling that Chubba may end up playing more than any of us are anticipating.

Wake game should’ve been so much closer.

If Jarrian Jones doesn’t get called for the PF on the out of bounds play Wake has to kick a FG. That was 4 extra points they get on that drive.

If KZ doesn’t fumble on the 1 inch line in a crazy turn of events we have 7 more points.

Game is down to 31-21. And I think we had the ball inside the 5 another time too and came away with nothing.

That game could’ve easily turned out to be a 3 point difference, 31-28, like our other 2.

Doesn’t make anyone feel better at all but just pointing it out.

One aspect HAS to be fixed to avoid losing fans and recruits…

I think most fans understand that we’re not playing with the 2013 roster. It would shock very few to see a corner too slow or a OL get beat man-to-man; it just is what it is with our roster. I think there is a lot of grace for the coaching staff on that issue. Hell, we were giddy about a loss. That being said, there’s no way Norvell doesn’t become a lame duck if he can’t clean up the coaching side. It’s not even average right now, it’s pathetic. If I see a well designed play where our player is simply out-talented, I hate it but that can be fixed through recruiting. However, we can’t have bad players and God-awful coaches too. Discipline was promised and there is very little of that. Penalties, too many men on the field, unconscionable play calls (Milton sneaks, man coverage on 4th and forever)…Norvell gets paid too much to have those things happening and they’re not a “dearth of talent” issue. He and the staff have to do their job before they can expect anyone else to. This is where I’ve been the most surprised by what I’ve seen this year. I’m ok with 4-8 if the coaches appear to be competent, but they have shown zero evidence if that.

Accountability

Has anyone from the past football coaching staff been relieved of their duties by the head coach.

We know Jimbo didnt, Taggert didnt have time too. But Norvell could just to send a messge that this is unacceptable.

Then that gets the players attention that this type if football is unacceptable

I dont think anyone is worried about anything.

Just a thought

Everything is a Circle, not a Climb!

He preaches climb, 1 percent a day, blah blah blah. Truth is you overlooked a team and coaching staff who wanted it more than you and it was clear in the first half which MEANS a good coaching staff addresses that in the locker room and gets to the meat of playbook to hammer it home.
Not only did we get cute second series but he shared it with the broadcast before the game he might have some fun things dialed in.
The reasons we don’t have depth is because we can’t handle teams like this and get others valuable playing time they need to grow. Chubba should of got reps once it’s out of hand, back up online, dline, dbs and wrs depth on the field so they can develop a 2 deep!

what happens when you don’t handle business is a circle not a climb. Don’t end up getting those folks reps in games like these to develop a 2 deep roster everywhere ends up last play gassed with players who can’t make a play.

its a circle Mike. Not a climb. They pushed out Bobby for less.

this is how you treat his legacy?

More proof it’s just a circle? Like clockwork I got my 9am email from Seminoles.com to buy FSU fan gear. No one cares it’s disgusting.

Wake Forest almost 500 yards of offense (season highs rushing and passing)

WAKE FOREST 2021 OFFENSE STATS
vs. Old Dominion: 352 total yards -- 164 rushing, 188 passing
vs. Norfolk State: 413 total yards -- 161 rushing, 252 passing
vs. Florida State: 484 yards -- 225 rushing, 259 passing

per Warchant -

Wake Forest quarterback Sam Hartman was the star of the game. He completed 22 of 31 attempts for 259 yards and two touchdowns.

The Demon Deacons also rushed for 225 yards while racking up almost 500 in total offense for the game..

Jameis revisionist history is happening

I am shocked at how idiotic these media people are when they talk about Jamies.

it’s like they do no research on him at all, like today one guy said Jameis ran the ball nicely for the Saints which he never did at Tampa bay, which he did, not a lot but did have some nice time runs.

It is like they want to erase his 129 td passes and all of the great things he did there.

There is a big train on track to smash into the train station and the media is scrambling. NO might have the best team in the league and will be too 5 in power rankings in three weeks.

Jameis is a big threat to the establishment imo,

The ugly truth

Things are probably going to get worse in the coming weeks. Reports are that the locker room is in disarray & Norvell has lost the confidence of his team. Looking at the schedule ahead, I only see potentially 1 or 2 wins this season & even those can become losses.

The ugly truth is this team hasn’t seen rock bottom yet. It’s only going to get worse if things don’t turn around quickly & I haven’t seen anything to suggest that they will!

My “solution” for the defense

This is my most simple, affordable solution for the defensive side of the ball. Keep Marcus Woodson thus hopefully keeping Travis Hunter and San McCall, plus keeping some consistency for once in the secondary. This offseason bring on T-Buck from Mississippi State, fire Adam Fuller (now) and at the end of the season Chris Marve, and make Randy Shannon (now) your DC and LB’s coach.

2022 coaching staff...
DE John Papuchis
DT Odell Haggins
LB/DC Randy Shannon
CB/ST Terrell Buckley
DB Marcus Woodson

I have to think that is a defensive staff that can recruit and at least field a somewhat formidable defense.

My case for Chubba Purdy

At this point in the season - it's already a loss. We are staring at 1-11 or best case scenario 4-8.

Chubba Purdy showed last season that he can be very good (see NC State game). Purdy improved in Fall camp. At this point, Chubba is probably the best combination of arm talent and mobility that we have on the roster. He cannot be worse than what Milton and Travis is providing.

McKenzie Milton is going to be getting into coaching. Start his internship now. Norvell can hire him as a QB grad assistant after this season. But Milton's arm talent isn't the same. He is turning the ball over just like Jordan Travis has been.

Jordan Travis just can't read coverages and go through progressions. Chubba may not be there yet - but his arm talent is better and he's probably actually quicker than Jordan now.

Norvell can show young recruits that they will get a shot early if the upper classmen aren't doing their job. Playing Chubba will show AJ Duffy that he can come in and win the job if upperclassmen aren't getting the job done.

Now is the time to see what Chubba Purdy can do and until he is hurt - let him play all game every game. There's literally nothing to lose at this point - but another game - and that's going to happen anway.

Why? We NEEDED a PEDIGREE STALLION to fix the problem but we came home with its PONY to perform the task!!!

Tried for Schiano as early as 2017 when Jimbo was first rattling the cage. NO INTEREST!
Then Urban Meyer got him as DC at Ohio State. And for all you “Schiano has a losing record” posters…YOU GOT JUST WHAT YOU SIUGHT! A yearling with a winning record. A coach who WHO at a lower level with Justen Fuentes program and talent.
Now remember this naysayers:
LEGENDARY COACHES want the best PEDIGREE for their co-ordinators.
Schiano’s pedigree: Miami’s NATTY DC and a DC Coordinator of Year;”
Urban Meyer (DC Coach of year candidate )and “first offered” by the NFL WORLD CHAMP NE Pat’s COACH Belechek. Add in Chip Kelly offer. UTennessee first choice as HC. Tampa Bay (yes, it’s in FLORIDA) Head Coach and twice turning around what was acclaimed to be “the worst D1 in the nation”).
But our WarChantleaders DIDN’T focus on pedigree, They just wanted limited though gaudy WON and LOST record DOWN THERE!
Ironically, now, our Chanters got their “manna”…. A GREAT W/L RECORD WITH ANOTHER’S TALENT but sadly:
ZERO EXPERIENCE TO PERFORM THE JOB DESCRIPTION!
Maybe those on Board who chanted-in-ignorance helping to create a “daisy-chained disaster” while watching FSU’s once ELITE P5 FOOTBALL PROGRAM burn. should go back and re-read their caustic posts attacking cries for an:
1. APPLICABLE PEDIGREE to fit that job description, (turn around)
2. ACTUAL SUCCESS STORY IN DOING IT,
3. EXISTANCE of DEEP FL ROOTS in recruiting FL talent as well as recruiting National 5 star talent.
4. NFL HC experienced with related contacts such as the ability to “get” 5 star staff (e.g., from the NFL and/or top flighters from college assistants seeking PEDIGREED “Next level up).
5. Ability to “coach-up” 4-5 star talent, readying them for an NFL career.
Now tell me…how does what FSU NOW has to offer compare?
