#100pagesnatty Thread 11/08/18 #63pagesnattynumber1 #106pagesnattynumber2

Did Hurley actually yell eff you to Cofer before he said shut up?
Probably.

On another note, Hurley is only 6 months older than me and I remember hating him when I was in college. I sure as heck hope that nobody looks at me and sees that much aging and that much a difference since college!!!

So for those of us who didn't follow the nth level details from Baylor, how much involvement did Kendal have? Or how much intentional ignorance was there?

Is this guilt by association, guilt by family ties, immoral behavior or immoral adjacent?

So this "new" guy showed up on the TC yesterday with some insanely "inside" information.
Have fun:

No way that poster is 20 years old. I just went through the OC update thread and if their info is correct, they have to be a coaches child or a computer hacker to have that much info about EVERYTHING in our program. Pretty hard to believe they are 20. Sure reminds me of FSUFOREVERANDEVER

From the TC:
Okay so new on details of the hire is starting to leak.. hearing that Briles will bring 2 guys with him. So Briles, Clement, Lebby will be joing the staff. Bell (already gone) Hampton and Kelly will be leaving. Kelly will be an off field guy. (I know what Ira said but Willie will get through that red tape) as for Clement and Lebby coming in that most likely means Heard will not join the staff. Bummer yes but Briles as our OC is more important. Hearing Lebby would coach QBs. Clemente and Frey will do OL and Briles will be OC and work with WR. Not set in stone yet but this is what looks like is going to happen. Stay tuned.

No way this is from a 20 year old. Just saying. I do enjoy the info, how ever old this person is!

That would be fantastic! Lebby is UCFs qb coach and we all saw what his guys were able to do. Clements is UHouston's oline coach, dont know much about him, but wouldnt hurt to have 2 ol coaches with our history.

two of the six top ESPN stories are about athletes and their racist/homophobic tweets.

Got to think there is a market for someone who does nothing but goes in scrubs peoples twitter accounts.

Show this to your kids in middle or.high school who think what they post dosen't matter. Thankfully my daughter is on the school and county council for student government and her posts are always scrutinized. She wasn't even allowed to post a picture with a plastic cup. Made my stalking life easier!

I'm so glad there was no internet when I was that age.

There was so much going it would be impossible for Kendall not to have known what was going on. Without looking it up for exact numbers it was basically 50something women raped by 30something football players over about a four year period. So it makes our past of 1-3 alleged rapes a year look quaint.

Considering 5-20% of college women are raped depending on definition and study, the FSU football allegations are actually well below what 85 standard college guys would get into while Baylor is well in excess (because if 30something came forward you know the real number is double to quadruple that).

And it was more than just the actual rapes, there was an open rape culture encouraged in the players. Everything from asking recruits if they “like white women” and then having open Gang rape parties where players were pulling trains (2 with more than 10 players on a passed out woman) and bragging about it on social media.

I know there’s a quote from Kendall where he obviously knew about the rape culture. I’ll do a quick look for it.

But yeah, there’s no way Kendall Briles was unaware of what was going on in Baylor. It was too huge not to be aware and therefore a willing accomplice.

For the sake of this thread, let this be the last thing said about this.

Ok, then I’ll leave it at.....the Baylor situation was not a couple of isolated incidents but a part of their culture and it was so prevalent there is no way Kendall can pretend to be out of the loop. And I am not remotely happy we are even considering allowing him to be here. Some things are more important than football.

Thanks for the recap though, it was needed. I remember the scandals, but I could barely pay attention to other schools when we were fake news during that time.

Yeah it was a joke. We were front page for years because of one player and one accuser and then you have probably hundreds in four years at Baylor. It’s not even on the same plane.

Yeah, your summary is some of what I remember, I guess I was more asking what ever came back on him. As indicated above, so much going on, how could he be oblivious. And part of why I don't know much is due to the never ending JW news overshadowing ALL other news. That was the era for a player to get in trouble and hide just outside the JW spotlight.

As far as Kendall, other than being fired I don’t think there were any repercussions.

Blecch, looks like Tennessee turned down Briles and signed OSU’s OC instead. Sucks when SEC teams have more character as it looks like Briles is now a done deal to FSU.

I think you got that backwards.

Well that’s just the rumors, only Briles and UT knows the truth of the matter. Regardless I would much rather have someone who hasn’t demonstrated poor character. Especially when we’re still under Jameis’ shadow (and no I don’t believe his accuser but it doesn’t matter most people do, this is just strike 2 through 53). I wouldn’t be happy about it if the football team had a squeaky clean reputation, but this just makes people know where the priorities lie and it’s on winning not protecting women or character. I’m quite disgusted with our leadership if this ends up being true.

Kendall wasn't fired, he was retained on staff after all of the stuff went down. Then a year later went to FAU. Then to Houston.

Because people voluntarily step down from a P5 to a G5 job for the same position and less money without getting pushed out.... I understand you’re giving the public PR explanation for his leaving, I’m using the reality.

Time to change the subject before someone slams the ban hammer....

So, its going to get into the 40s here tonight. What do you Northerners got for lows?
When does a Christmas story start playing? I am kinda jonesing for a Charlie Brown Christmas as well.
Oh, lows in upper 20’s. Nice snuggling weather.

Know what I haven't heard on the radio for a while? Baby, It's cold outside. Too bad, I liked the version from Elf.
