#100pagesnatty Thread 11/08/18 #63pagesnattynumber1 #106pagesnattynumber2

Here's my "secret info". Allegedly Taggart interviewed Fedora and Hugh Freeze Sun and Mon, Kendal Briles sometime late last week, and is set to interview Grant Heard (a Hugh Freeze apprentice and WR coach) this week.

If that's true that Taggart is interviewing Grant Heard...I don't think he would be doing so without having basically decided on Freeze for OC.

Of course "my sources" are just me chatting up former colleagues who are writers and following some people on Twitter. So take it with a grain of salt.

So I REALLY like the third option for OC that’s popped up, Jeff Scott. Not only a “legacy” as he’s the son of former Bowden OC Brad Scott but he’s currently Dabo’s Co-OC and WR coach. PLUS...no sexual misconduct and cheating scandals unlike Briles and Freeze. I now hope we DO whiff on Freeze and he ends up at Bammer or Tennessee.

When I was reading your post, the name "Jeff" was at the end of the first line, and for just the slightest smidgen of a second, I was expecting to see "Bowden" on the next line!

Hahahaha. I did the same.

Freeze may be quality OC, but he is a bad moral hire and I would pass on him for that alone. He (and anyone) needs more time serving penance somewhere before I'd want him to be hired at FSU.

Let’s hope “Doc” Staples is wrong because he tweeted that Jeff Scott immediately turned us down. That would stink imo as I like him best of all of the possibilities I’ve heard.

Although honestly, I don’t know why the list has been so limited. Basically two terrible human beings although quality coaches, someone who allegedly immediately turned us down, and someone who was fired from a directional school. Surely we could do better than that?

So Hugh Freeze accepted the Liberty HC position. That seems incredibly dumb when apparently we, Auburn, Tenn and Bama were all clamoring to get his dirty %*%#. But whatever, couldn’t have happened to a worse person.

Hmmm, some people are saying it’s not really a done deal to Liberty and it’s just Sexton pulling the wool over the eyes of this rube.

So we’ll see. If your goal is to get back to big boy coaching or at least lower tier P5 then a stop at Liberty makes no sense.

Per Newburg, Scott was never an option and had never been contacted. So take that for what it's worth. Either FSU saving face, or Staples being wrong. Both are within the realm of possibility.

I never thought that Newburg has good connections. He just seems to....what is the polite term....parrot information offered first by Doc Staples, James Coleman, Bud Elliot, Chris Nee, etc... I heard it from more reliable sources we did contact him and got a quick thanks but no thanks. And hey! Can’t say I disagree with him. Why leave a great situation at Clemson to MAYBE improve FSU. While I THINK we’ll show massive improvement next year, we could be just as bad. And Clemson can offer the same or almost as much money anyways.

Oh sweet baby Jesus there will be riots in the streets if we don't show improvement. It can seemingly always get worse but can it really?

Lol, our OLine was so awful I don’t think it will be replicated next year. I THINK.

But honestly, I don’t know why we don’t go after “hot” young OCs at P5 like Kenny Dillingham. He has no baggage that I’m aware of and is barely older than the players he teaches (he’s 28).

Put me on the search “firm” #^^% it! I could pull 20 better names than Freeze and Briles.

I was out last night so watched the game this morning. The only time I thought they sounded like Stanford's team announcers was after the second goal. The "I hate to see that" and "it's a wet ball because it rained during the first game" excuse sounded like a homer call.
devil's advocate... I don't know jack about soccer, but when I saw that clip I thought how in the world did she not block that ball? Again, not a fan or expert in any way, but it looked like she just muffed it. That to me is an excuse for them to express some sympathy. (can you tell I haven't been on the board for a while and am catching up on this thread again?)

Nice win for the Noles today, this is a good basketball team.

As an aside
I do not usually buy into the ESPN BS about hating FSU , but from 10 am to 730pm I was in the truck traveling. ( with a 2 hour break for a kids birthday party)..During that time I listened to ESPN radio on XM the entire trip. Not once did they say the #11 ranked Noles were playing tonight or did they update the score after tip.Just found it interesting

...And just think--We're very close to getting our leading scorer from a year ago back!
