#100pagesnatty Thread 11/08/18 #63pagesnattynumber1 #106pagesnattynumber2

So, if it is done, question turns to who would be the better interim head coach for a bowl game, Charles Kelly or Rick Trickett? With CK, we would obviously need an additional person to hold him back by the belt. With Trickett, we would need somebody with a loud horn to mask the F-bombs. My money is on the dark horse, Vic Viloria. He won't run out on the field, he will just jump in place swinging a towel. He won't drop F-bombs every other second, but there may be excessive chest bumping.

We’ll need CK and Trickett up in the new coaches box I’ve constructed.

Don't know if this is true or not, but coaches at top tier programs shouldn't get raises for going 6-6, and I'm a Jimbo defender.
Agree, but I don’t think he meant raises, but rather the budget to hire capable replacements.

Everyone seems to be assuming Fisher will get an official offer from A&M. What if he doesn't?

That should have sent a little chill down the back of your spine.

I kind of think the whole thing spiraled out of control. JF and his agent got used to asking for more every year. AM came calling and team JF figured they could play the same game; this time FSU is 5-6 and not in the mood for games. I honestly can't believe JF thinks things will be easier at AM, regardless of the money. O well he now needs to go and will see money, facilities etc. are not always the best indicator for success.

Why would anyone in this thread have that reaction? Not following you at all on the comment.

I know everyone has a source, but I finally talked to “my guy” who is as close to the situation as one can be, here is what happened.

Lol, cmon man. This info has been floating around for days.

So when you say "close", how close? I love these "sources posts". Is the source someone in Jimbo's, Thrasher's, or Wilcox's family?

Most people, or I should clarify, the highest % of people closest to the program, are boosters, (who Jimbo is supposedly against), only hear info passed on 3rd hand at best. There are a few that get first hand, but by that time, it is probably old news or closely guarded. For the rest of the golden chiefs (or whoever think they know), it trickles down like piss on a leg, then gets regurgitated and eaten up on the ground.

Players dont even know what the hell is going on. They are usually the last to know, so anyone close to them that are spilling the beans, are the ones that also run to tweet, snap, insta, warchant, to get e-cred or whatever.

The only ones that Id give creedence to are in a Football Operations role and have direct access to the coaches on a daily and 1st name basis, or on the flip side, directly know Thrasher or his close friends. All the rest is texts, bs, and more bs.

So after all that, and not doubting your sources, because I bet that most of it is true, can you tell us what role your source is in? Football ops, boosters, team, admin?

Little known fact is that DanC worked with Thrasher and Wilcox last year. He was hired to proofread all correspondence and important documentation for typos and proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation. His friendly personality won everyone over and he was beloved by Thrasher, Wilcox and the entire staff. They had enough confidence in him, that while they were off on Winter/Christmas Break, they put Dan in charge of finalizing the details on Jimbo's contract extension executed just before Christmas. Although Dan's employment contract was not renewed for this year for some unknown reason, he remains close with everyone on staff and therefore has sources that are truly inside sources.*

* This story is what my sources have told me. You decide if it is reliable or not.

When Jimbo leaves, I will be fine as long as our search is done quickly and efficiently unlike Tennessee’s. That is the biggest fail pile I’ve seen in awhile.

It is really shocking how bad Tenn has been and for so long. If I were Tenn at this point I would hire Cutcliff to stabilize the program for a few years and find a young guy to replace him.

I know, I know..believe what you will. I was 100% expecting this reaction. Can’t say I blame any of you for reacting this way.

And I’m sure Gene and others close to the program have heard that this is the story that’s Thrasher is telling to the people high enough up in the program, Unfortunately, they can’t report on something like that unless someone was willing to go on record, and no one is willing to do that.

But everythjbg that I stated was told to someone directly from Thrasher, and that person then told DanC on the phone last night.

WOW they must be a real dumpster fire. Who would have ever thought that both schools called UT would suck for so long. I guess as we go through the JF fun show we can feel better by thinking that at least we aren't UT.

UT thought it wouldn’t be hard to replace Fulmer. I would think it’s a cautionary tale for FSU.
I think Cutcliffe is happy where he is at. Duke expectations aren’t sky high, and he exceeds them.
Apparently Chip Kelly’s conversation with him is what convinced Kelly he’d rather be at UCLA than UF.

Tenn dumping Fulmer is always the scenario that scares me. They haven’t been relavent since.

I agree, replacing a successful coach is a cautionary tale when you look at Tennessee, Texas, Nebraska, Florida, Miami etc. We may strike out.

But in this case, we did not run Jimbo off. This is on him, so we have no choice. I will always treasure 2013-2014 and wish Jimbo luck. I think he will need it if he does not develop thicker skin and become less loyal to bad assistants.

If the thought of A&M not making a formal offer, meaning we're stuck with Fisher, doesn't give you a case of the trembles, then I don't follow your thinking. Our head coach has become poison here, but we can't afford to force him to leave. So our hopes are that A&M will come through and that Fisher will accept their offer. Until that happens, there will be some doubt as to how and when this saga will end.

That's actually a good point. Per Jimbo's contract, he breaches the contract if he negotiates with A&M, or if he doesn't report any offers from A&M.

He also has to perform the media shows in a way that reflects well on the University.

Also Section IV.B. mentions an obligation to recruit, etc. at a level associated with other schools.

This could get even more messy. Public opinion is against Jimbo at this point. He's hurting himself.

Nobody talks about the collateral damage with this saga. What I want to know is if Jimbo takes Kelly with him to College Station, does Red make the move, as well?

Hope Red's hitting the gym extra hard this week. If CK's our interim Saturday, he'll really have his hands full!!

Bovada still has FSU as 27 point favorites (-115). I was surprised that they hadn't taken the game off the board. That seems like an easy play.

We aren't Tennessee, or Nebraska, or Miami, or Texas. We are one of the Top 5 coaching destination in the country.

Taggart also has already met with Knight & gotten his blessing about going to FSU if the job opens.

CONSUMER ALERT:
If you receive an unfamiliar phone call from area code 865, do NOT answer! It could be the University of Tennessee trying to trick you into accepting a job as head football coach

I don't understand the Knight thing. I remember hearing Chip Kelly might not coach at UCLA because they were an Under Armor school and Knight wouldn't approve.

I don't get it....

Looks like Jimbo won’t even have the decency to coach his final game against Louisiana Monroe. So we’ll see if we can make it to a bowl without him.

I will say, I started the process ambivalent to whether Jimbo stayed or went but now just watching him interact with the rightfully upset fan base (not only because of the %*%* season but his lack of loyalty and a recruiting class that will be the worst we’ve seen in some time barring a miraculous turnaround...basically it will be like going on probation) and seeing how he has screwed over recruits AND players by not being honest...I now want him gone.

But with him needs to go the president of the boosters or we are in serious trouble. A football facility five years from now means five years of lower recruiting than what we should be bringing in and he’s too busy setting up deals for his cronies at CollegeTown and wasting money on that boondoggle at the stadium where we have massive empty seats in an obvious section.

This entire saga is a lesson in life that you should never create the situation/environment that prevents someone from being fired. Jimbo can literally sit on this decision now and potentially screw us over (as feelings get more and more personal and heated). I don't care how good a coach is or a situation seems the $40 million buyout I have to believe was a major part of what even allowed Jimbo to overplay his hand. Ultimately that job security may be the very downfall of this situation for both sides. A smaller buyout and Jimbo probably has to be more sensitive and strategic in his push for facilities but ultimately do it by partnering with others in charge. Instead he pushed too hard, burned bridges and now he is going to lose a job I don't think he actually wanted to leave and we are going to have to cross our fingers on a coaching hire.

100% on the same page with you.

At this point why is anyone waiting on any decision. Can we just get this over with?

We can’t fire him or we will liable for the buy out...we just need him to sign the new A&M contract and put in his letter if resignation.

I would think Miami and Texas are close though. We are also biased on FSU's ranking, but lets not pretend that we are heads above those two specifically.

Agreed, if he is leaving, he is only pissing off people and will leave a tarnish on his legacy. If he is staying (I doubt it by now) he isn't answering questions and this funk will stain next season. Guess they are just waiting on the ink to dry <shrug> or final details if he is packing up.
