#100pagesnatty Thread 11/08/18 #63pagesnattynumber1 #106pagesnattynumber2

Sounds like their are potential issues with Booster leadership, but Jimbo sounds like a petulant child. They are committed to giving him what he wants, just not tomorrow. Jimbo Fisher has badly overplayed his hand this time. Florida State is instantly the best job on the market: SEC resources competing against ACC competition. Good luck playing LSU, Alabama, Auburn, Miss State (Pruitt) every year and Clemson in 18 & 19 at A&M. If money won Championships, Texas would win every year.

It kind of sounds like this is the issue based on the pod cast and what are some saying here. I get wanting everything possible for your program but it is unrealistic to think FSU can just write a check tonight for everything. While facilities and money are important they are not the only indicator for success. So JF will leave to have all the facilities he wants by the end of the week and FSU will still build the stuff just not tomorrow. IMO JF will wish he stayed when our new coach is winning and enjoying the facilities we build over the next few years and AM is still a mid level SEC team but with amazing facilities. I guess if we had just built everything he wants by now our o-line would be awesome and all the other issues we see every Saturday would magically disappear; who knew that facilities stopped false starts and your defense being out of position on a regular basis.

I'm betting there isn't and I'm sure it doesn't hurt, but we have this. If it ain't good enough for recruits, we don't need ya. It's good enough for Cam, it's good enough for me.

Um, FSU football recruits are definitely drawn in by Tallahassee's non-football related attributes, but it's not the Strip or sorority row (at least not at FSU).

With the commitment FSU showed him on past contract and the continued investment in program, if he leaves it is on him. And I still think if this is the case, it will be in large due to not wanting to fire loyal staff and not just the money.

If its true that he wanted to bring in new coaches last year and the boosters told him no, then I owe Jimbo a big fat apology. And fire Andy Miller

Eight pages in and we know absolutely nothing more than when this thread started.
We sort of do know that literally everyone's sources are complete and utter crap, since Jimbo hasn't confirmed a single one of them yet. If those sources were worth a crap, we'd have heard something definitive by now.

You have to wonder if JImbo is saying build this thing now, or get rid of Miller and let me have a say in his replacement. If that is the case, FSU should agree, but Jimbo needs to make the staff changes and hire an OC in return. As many other posters have said, the lack of facilities had no impact on our WR being bad, Oline being bad, LB's being bad, and an overall dysfunctional team. The talent on this team is top 3-5 in the country.

No matter how this shakes out, Jimbo needs to go to some business negotiating classes. He has made half the fan base hate him. There are much better ways to go about this, and without having saying definitively that he is staying.

no kidding....and for what it's worth...I like Izzo. He seems to be a reliable TE who can do all the things needed from a TE.

Did you listen to the podcast?

I was only able to get the podcast to run for about 10 mins each time I tried to listen. What did he say about Izzo? FWIW I have a good friend whose family were golden chiefs forever and now just give a much smaller amount each year. The reason is because of the way not approving of the way Miller runs the booster club.

It IS starting to look definitive. The various news outlets like USAToday and whatnot are reporting on who we are getting as a replacement unlike last year. I don’t think I saw a single article about who we would have taken last year if Jimbo had left for LSU.

That's partially b/c there's a coaching carousel going on at a lot of schools. They're just lumping us in with them.

I'm not saying he's staying. I'm saying LOTS of people are saying he's staying and LOTS of people are saying he's going...and no one has confirmed anything. Which means he either doesn't know, hasn't decided, or for whatever reason, isn't telling us himself.

Sorry for confusion...Izzo was in reference to the Aguayo story

I believe the lines have been drawn by each side and now they're waiting to see which will acquiesce.

Sorority Row gets more hits on Instagram and YouTube than FSU football. It's a draw and is apparently too hot for Warchant mods. FAMU is obviously bonus. I like Kens and don't care if the recruits do.

Only on message boards can people create a narrative of Jimbo getting turned down by the boosters for getting top assistants when we know for a fact he leveraged for longer contracts last year for the current staff. If money was the issue that year why not wait another year and then request additional funds for such changes? Another issue with pointing fingers at the boosters is while some of the expenditures could be questioned the boosters have put in 150 million into the program over the last 4-5 years.

Just did a little research on who is out there.

Willie doesn’t look that bad after reviewing the field.

I like James Franklin too. Has taken crap programs like Vanderbilt to winning seasons, and has proven to win at Penn State his last two years.
Franklin lol? Now your just throwing names out there. Might as well add Bellicheck and Don Shula. Franklin is at his dream job from his home state and favorite team growing up and has that program turned around with a frigginn Heisman candidate and a top 10 team about to play in a NY6 bowl and you think he would up and just leave that for our crapfest? Cmon man.

Its Frost>....Taggert>..............>Jimbo or bust.

In Dan’s defense, Franklin has come up repeatedly for some reason and I don’t know why. I assume it’s a Jimmy Sexton tactic to pry more money out of Ped State because like you I don’t believe he would leave unless there’s something we don’t know about (and it IS Ped State we’re talking about, maybe Franklin accidentally walked into the rape and murder altars to Azazel and Chemosh buried in the center of campus).

My personal preference is Frost first (but he may already be committed to Nebraska where the N stands for Nolledge), Taggart second and everyone else third.

I’m not saying he’s a slam dunk...I just like his resume much better.

And I conceded that WT does in fact have a better resume than I originally thought when you stack rank it next to the field.

And yes...Jimbo or bust!

The problem now is that Florida State is stuck with Fisher even if the school would rather he go away.

Lesson Number One...never have an employee that you can't afford to fire.

Speaking of BIG coaches, I wonder if any gauging of Mark Dantonio's interest has occurred. Now that would be a slam dunk! Perhaps he's tired of battling all of the big time programs in his own division and playing second fiddle in his state and to hoops on his own campus....

Didn’t Vandy have some questionable things going on while Franklin was in charge?
They had some serious legal issues with players and sexual assault. Not sure what Franklin knew prior to the allegations.

I wonder why Neal Brown at Troy isn't getting a look...
He's done good work there so far, but I think a lot of people would be nervous about his youth and a jump from being Head Coach at a Sun Belt school to Head Coach at a top-tier school is a big of a jump at this stage in his career.

If true that Gundy turned down $7 million a year from Rocky Top then we have no shot at him either.
As I recall, T. Boone Pickens donated something like $680,000,000 to the Oklahoma State athletic program a few years ago. I've got to assume they have among the best faciliities coupled with very deep pockets when it's time to pay coaches. It's actually probably pretty hard to pry someone away from their programs.

There are issues about the pledge because T. Boone has lost a lot of money over the past few years. Easy to pledge that amount when you thought 100 ppb was the new normal and everyone would be moving to wind.

Oh is that right? Didn't know that. I didn't realize it was a pledge...thought he actually gave them cash.
