Seminole Hard Rock and FSU need to join forces!!

On October 15, 2021, the Seminole Hard Rock will have legalized sports gambling in the State of Florida for the first time in history. Anyone within the State of Florida at anytime will be able to bet through the Seminole Hard Rock on line or in person at their casinos throughout the State. Considering LSU's deal with Caesars, why doesn't FSU strike a similar deal with the Seminole Hard Rock for a multi-million dollar sponsorship agreement. Can you think of a more natural fit!! Chief Marcellus Osceola himself signed the 30-year, multibillion-dollar gambling compact with Governor DeSantis to legalize sports gambling at the Hard Rock for goodness sake. Our administration needs to get motivated and begin to consider what it takes to keep up with the heavy weights in the SEC financially. If Norvell turns into a deadbeat, we need to have the financial resources to buyout contracts and hire the elite staffs. Not to mention keeping up in the arms race with facilities.

Sports Gambling

It Just Means More.

Yes, it does and in more ways than one. The forces behind the upcoming changes to college football are the SEC, ESPN, NCAA, Las Vegas, and even the IRS. Some of the most despised names in sports and government.

That may be true, but what is lurking out there in the shadows is far worse. A dark money system around NIL with unregulated bag men & bookies. A wild, wild west with no bumpers or guardrails at all. You thought recruiting was a dirty game. It is, but it’s nothing compared to what is coming next with NIL and unregulated sports gambling and all that comes with it.

The sport must evolve or die. We need true structure, regulation and transparency. The forces are now aligning to provide that by 2025. Conference realignment changes are a big part of getting there. What ESPN & Disney did yesterday was just another step to bring it all out of the shadows:

LSU becomes first SEC school to partner with gambling company, agrees to Caesars Sportsbook deal

As I previously mentioned, sports gambling is a driving force in both ESPN and Fox's future media plans around conference realignment. What LSU just did is only the tip of the iceberg of what's coming and will need to be regulated much better going forward. There is so much money involved that can be used for good if properly regulated, but also evil if it is left unchecked.

Clark: What history says about Power 5 schools, coaches that lose FCS games

Is it the end of the road once a Power 5 program falls to an FCS opponent? Is that coaching staff doomed?

Corey takes a big-picture and historical look at what we can predict -- or not predict -- based on FSU's loss to Jacksonville State.

Zerrick Cooper JSU QB

This game gave me heartburn last year and JSU was actually Leading at halftime. I don’t know Zerrick stats from last year but he lit us up. He’s a former Clemson QB.

The middle LB is only 210 lbs, better be some serious running going on Sat. They have a DE that is 6’6 250 and was a potential transfer to FSU this offseason.

They were shutout by UAB last week.UAB has a nice defense but that’s ridiculous. I really would be shocked if this game was anything like last year. JSU will throw the ball a lot so our DBs better be ready this weekend.

The last 2 games there have been….

Several coaching errors and loads of penalties.

Penalties on offense are drive killers and on defense they extend drives.

I honestly think if they can correct the coaching errors (not playing prevent defense on the last play or sending an all out blitz on 3rd and long vs ND) and limit the really unnecessary penalties we can beat Wake Forrest.
