#100pagesnatty Thread 11/08/18 #63pagesnattynumber1 #106pagesnattynumber2

Happy to read some surprisingly positive comments from recruits who were at game Saturday. No matter how bad the season is, this off-season is hugely important.

It seems Taggart was able to convince the recruits that Jimbo’s players quitting on him just creates more openings. Sounds like a good selling point to me.

Frankly the recruiting seems to (knock on wood) be going pretty well. My only complaints are that I would like a commitment or two from some Juco tackles and I wish we could get an adequate but not so good he would scare off Howell juco QB. Because I think we’re going to be very light at QB next year with just Blackman and Howell (or Frenchy and Howell even worse).

The NC State game is huge. We have to have this for the bowl streak to live. We can do it....amazing we all have collective amnesia and forget we were 2-5 at this point last year. If not for ACC refs we would be 5-3 right now and not 4-4.

If Bobby Petrino wasn't stupid, we'd be 3-5 right now. It's easy to play that game both ways.

It's not collective amnesia, it's the reality of getting your doors blown off for 3 of the 8 games you've played.

We have a team that can't respond within a game to get the cars back on the rails. Let's hope we can pull together between games and get this thing moving. NC State is totally winnable (as were Miami, VT, and Syracuse).

That was the only game we had doors blown off. Our D kept us in Tech and Cuse game. But do agree in someways we have a team with many that quit Saturday. And last year in Boston. And year before that in Louisville. Got some bad eggs on this squad.

Agree too we can beat NC State.

Hearing Slim Reaper May be starting

We lost by 21 at home to Va Tech and by 23 on the road at Syracuse. I very much consider those games to be whippings.
Not when you score a total of 10 points those two games and were in both games at half time. Losing 24-3 is not the same as 59-10.

I agree. The degree of the whooping was definitely larger, but considering it was Clemson vs scrubs beating FSU...... The Clemson dismantling will go down as a much larger / longer black eye.

Says a lot if we are now debating which whooping was worse.

Of course the Clemson game was worse, but that doesn't diminish the turds we laid against Syracuse and Va. Tech.

We were trailing a whopping 6-0 to cuse at half. But it was pretty sad affair second half. For Va tech we were losing 17-3 in the freakin fourth quarter when Cam came a few yards from a 80 yard TD run. That game was not a blow out. It was awful. Score was lopsided. But we had a dropped touchdown pass, a TD called down on half yard line that was a TD, a huge run to 3 yard line and scored 3 points those three drives. And Tech got 7 on a blocked punt. Score was 24-3 but it was not a blow out or beat down like Clemson or Louisville. It was big bag of frustration

Blowouts can be frustrating too. I agree they were not beat-downs like Clemson, Louisville or BC.

I do agree with you that the first half against Syracuse was not a blowout and the second half against VTech was not a blowout.

VT was up 17-3, whereas ‘Cuse was up 6-0.

Not as nice as when we were up 27-7 halfway through the 3rd quarter @Miami, but those games weren’t out of reach at half.
Clemson was.

And we were tied with Clemson 0-0 after 1 quarter with just as many frustrating mistakes so....

We were blown out in all 3 because with 5 minutes to go there was no doubt about the outcome. Reserves were being played, stats were being padded, crowds were leaving the stadium. That is a blowout and it happened thrice and it sucks.

You guys are arguing about piss ants.

Interesting stat. Francois has the measurables over Blackman but it is possible the team will play harder/better with #1 at the helm.

Coaches haven't handled or helped Francois that much, either but if Taggart is going to go all-in on team chemistry (benching players) then a change is at least consistent with that.

Maryland doesnt seem to have their poop together. Regents brings back the coach then he is fired next day. Embarassing for those people and they seem tone deaf to what the decision to bring the HC would do to McNairs family and teammates.

Hearing JC go on about this today made me wonder if Bobby would've survived this media environment after Darling died.

Good question: I think so - the environment around player safety was equally different. If anything, FSU was a tragic leader in helping thousands of others. It was very far away from what Durking created (and enforced) at Maryland.

One thing I've always been proud about our school is we make mistakes but own up and try to fix the fundamental issues.

Durkin is a cop-out coward pos. Maryland is just plain dumb for ever thinking he should come back.

Didn't they see the players line up with only 4 lineman...and go on to whip Texas? Pretty obvious.
